  1. Thanks for the prompt reply. But is the license being sold on the above link a retail license?
  2. Hi there. Just built a new computer. Need a Windows 10 Home retail(also called as RTM, right?) license. Is the license being sold by microsoft on the following link a(n) retail / oem license? If not, where to buy the retail license(pls dont suggest amazon, etc.)? I am not sure as it is not explicitly mentioned. https://www.microsoft.com/en-in/d/windows-10-home/d76qx4bznwk4?activetab=pivot%3aoverviewtab I need a retail license as I want to be able to migrate my same license to a new build 2 years down the line. Retail license = 1PC, transferable to a new PC built by me and OEM license = linked to your board and BIOS RIGHT? or am I missing something? Thanks in advance.
  3. I own a Win 10 Home Edition Laptop(HP Pavilion 15 ab125ax) from 2015. 2years back I had made a clean install of the Win 10 after disabling Secure Boot. I had been updating the Windows on this installation only, even till 21H1 update. Everything had been working fine till then, no driver issues. The system BIOS, AMD drivers and Windows are up-to-date. A couple of days back, I enabled Secure Boot and rebooted the PC. After the reboot, the AMD GPU drivers failed to start and upon checking in the Device Manager, I came to know that the Windows had stopped the device(code 43). I tried reinstalling the drivers in Safe Mode, but no use. If i tried to install drivers in normal mode, I kept getting the following two types of BSODs: 1. KERNEL_MEMORY_HEAP_CORRUPTION, 2. PAGE FAULT IN NON PAGED AREA. Then I came to know that if you enable Secure Boot, you have the do a clean install of the Windows. So I created a Windows 10 USB drive using Microsoft Windows Media Creation Tool, did a clean install by erasing all partitions on the disk, creating the new ones as necessary and then installing the Windows(while having Secure Boot still ON). Even after doing a clean install, no use, got the same Code 43 in the device manager, and the same above types of BSODs when I tried to install the drivers using the AMD auto detect setup. Tried this entire procedure a couple of times, WITH SECURE BOOT ON AND OFF, BOTH, no use, same errors and BSODs. Just to check that whether my hardware was malfunctioning, I did a clean install of Ubuntu 21.04, and since then it is working completely fine. No reboots, no hangs, no SODs(sorry, don't know the BSOD equivalent in Linux ;)). If the hardware had been damaged, then even Linux must have given some issues, right? Can somebody please help me understand, WHY EVEN THE CLEAN INSTALLS ARE NOT WORKING WITH WINDOWS, WHEN UBUNTU 21.04 is running completely FINE. What is going on? I need to run Windows again on my laptop because my work requires me to use some programs that are available on Windows only. I am writing this using Firefox on Ubuntu only. Any help is much appreciated.
  4. Hi people. I own a Xiaomi Redmi K20 Pro. As you might be aware that it rocks Qualcomm Snapdragon 855. Please check out the specs of SD 855 on the web, if you don't know already. The chip supports HDR10+ recording at the hardware level. While I understand that you need to have a supporting camera lens to record with that color gamut, I have found it to be disturbing that the metadata of the video recorded on the camera shows Rec.601 as the record profile with Y'Cb'Cr of 4:2:0. I want to know whether is it possible to record on this device in Rec.2020 or at least Rec.709? Does anyone have any idea? Additionally, the chip supports 802.11ax(which I guess uses 60GHz spectrum). How to check if the fone also supports WiFi connection in this band and the WPA3?
  5. Greetings. 4 Years back I bought a laptop with a genuine copy of "Windows 10 Home Single Language" preinstalled. Now I want to build a new custom HEDT Workstation. I want to uninstall the Win 10 from the same laptop and convert it into a purely Linux machine. And I want to install the same copy of Win 10 which came preinstalled with the laptop, on the new HEDT Workstation. Can I do that or I have to buy a new Win 10 license? Thanx.
  6. Just like the rest of the world, I was very much excited about the Win 10 April 2018 update. I downloaded it, installed and to my horror, after installing the April 2018 update, the Windows Explorer started restarting after every 2 seconds rendering the Laptop completely useless. I tried several fixes mentioned on the internet, but of no use. Finally I had to downgrade to Win 10 version which was initially released(i installed it using HP recovery disk, it being a HP laptop). Now every time I power up my laptop, I stop the forced Win 10 update sevices(via services.msc) to prevent it from updating so that my laptop does not get screwed again. I want to ask the LTT Forum users that, is the Win Explorer (DWM also) restarting bug has been fixed by Microsoft or not? Now, should I update my laptop to the latest version or not? I am not able to find clear documentation on the internet regarding the fix. Kindly help me in this regard. Thanks in advance. My Laptop : HP Pavilion Notebook AB125AX

  9. Its not even giving any beep codes so is mobo dead? i mean bios gives these codes right? so if the bios itself is done nothing would start?
  10. Intel Q8400 @2.66 GHz MSI P7NGM-DIGITAL(GEFORCE 9300 CHIPSET) 2X2GB DDR2 @800 MHz Seagate 320GB HDD @ 7200 RPM PSU : VIP GOLD 600W nothing was ever overclocked. New to this forum.
  11. Hey guyz... I have an old pc.From last a week or so, it suddenly started giving hardware related Windows BCCodes(like 116, 124) out of the blue. It started with not detecting the GPU(which i surely know is working fine), then parity circuit error beeps, etc. But still it worked fine after reinstalling the components. Last night, it has stopped booting itself. After I press the power-on button, front panel led lights up, fans start spinning but then after 2-3 seconds everything stops without rebooting(no POST, no BIOS SCREEN, no beep codes). My best guess is that the motherboard is dead. I don't have alternate motherboard to test. I don't think my CPU is dead coz I have never OCed my CPU, hence a burnt Intel CPU is highly unlikely. Can you guys suggest whats going on? Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
