  1. Currently using two 980TI's but need to create a second rig for my wife. She seems to be a bit of an AMD nut.
  2. Imaging playing DEFCON on this! Could think of a few different ideas for this beauty.
  3. Rig Name: Sanctuary CPU: Intel 5960X (4.4GHz)GPU: NVIDIA GTX 980TI x 2RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX CMK16GX4M4A2800C16 16GB (4x4GB) DDR4 x 2 (32GB) Score: 10.4 I would suggest that people run the test more than once as this is the first result I got with the same system:
  4. It looks like there is little I can do other than return the fittings as they are the V3 series which have a loner barb and half the thread than the V2. After some Googling I found a whole sawg of other users having the same issue where it could not catch the thread and it was all does to with Bitspower screwing around with the design.
  5. Yes the fittings say that are designed for 1/2"ID 3/4" OD and a Wall of 1/8". I'm 99% percent that it's no fault of my own and that there has been a manufacturing fault on one of the parts. All that remains now is convincing the retailer that it's not me thats at fault. When you say boil the tubing do you mean literally boil the whole thing?
  6. Thanks for the welcome. I've already done the boiling water trick and it does make getting the tubing on easier. Here are the dimensions I've managed to get. Tubing OD: 3/4 Inch ID: Around 1/2 Inch Wall: 1/8 Inch Barb OD: 5/8 Inch With the Tubing around the barb OD: 7/8 Inch The Compression Fitting Up Tube End: 9/16 Inch Down Tube/Thread End: 11/16 Inch Here are some pictures. You can see that the tubing expands when pushed over the barb which I expect is a normal thing but as you can see in the second picture there is a collar/lip at thye bottom which seems to be catching on the expanded tubing thus preventing the thread from catching. Any ideas?
  7. The time has come for me to upgrade my computer an I've decided to take the plunge into Water Cooling. Its all going well. Parts coming in left, right and center and I'm super excited to build this sucker. After watching Linus assemble some loops I decided to test fit a compression fitting against the tubing I have to see how difficult it will be on the day of assembly and gauge if I will need to heat the ends up. Trying for about half an hour to easily get the tubing over the barb I started boiling some water. FINALLY! The tubing goes over the end of the barb and sits nice and snug in place. Now to screw down the fitting to hold it in place. This is where I have hit a roadblock. No matter how hard I try the fitting will simply not grab a hold of the thread and is being held in place by the pressure of the expanded tubing over the barb. I've taken a look back at the parts I ordered and they are apparently compatible: XSPC FLX Tubing Green UV 1/2ID 3/4OD 2m Bitspower G1/4 Matte Black Rotary Compression Fitting CC5 I've sent numerous emails to the retailer I purchased the parts from and all I have really gotten back is "Use more force"... I have to say that a 95kg man using most of his body weight, leaning down on the fitting will NOT make it catch on the thread when turned. Has anyone else encountered any similar issues where they are unable to get the compression fitting to grab onto the thread? Any and all help and suggestions are greatly appreciated.
