Im in the same boat! Going to wait it out for a bit longer but if the issues still continue, I'm just going to get another pg278q and call it a day. Some good deals showing up. IPS would be a pluss but honestly the TN of the Swift has never bothered me.

I have all week off, I put in for vacation Months ago but not for Fallout4 but for FFXIV 3.1 patch.  I could care less about fallout really.  Might still get it for shits and giggles like i did Metal gear solid. I lost all interest in games that will be fun to play for about a month witch is something I looked forward to when I was younger.  Growing up sucks D: I keep telling my self save this $60.00 now dont buy the game and you will have enough for some HD800S before you know it #TheDream!

My thought on this is if you have never tried anything higher then 100hz refresh then go 34" route. But if you have then it gets harder going back to a lower refresh.  With the new Predator/ Asus being able to give higher refresh rates it becomes more tempting to replace my swift.

PG279Q will be the last monitor you need if you get one that is perfect out of the box. Having said that its worth the gamble. The way I see it 4k is nice and all but the performance hit is way to much to justify.  Sure you will be able to run anything now at max settings at 60fps but I would rather have some breathing room for future game releases!

Ark will not support Dual GPUs in sli. I put in about about 100 hours or so of play time and wont be going back until it is fully released and optimized.  Was fun to play when it first came out and got my money worth but If you are just now thinking about picking it up I wouldn't.

Yeah Ark was hyped but for good reason it is a damn good game and has great potential.  Also I would only get Ark if you have friends to play with because playing Ark solo is no fun.

A remember when I was first trying to get a controller for PC gaming and long story short my search ended in me getting a One cable because I already had the controller.  People dont realize what gets the most attention when a new Gen console is developed, The controller! You will not find anything better for the price.  Unless you go the custom route but even then they are still using One shells and internals same for PS4 controllers.

OP I understand that for the price its an ok choice but I would rather buy an Official Microsoft controller then a Razer that has horrible quality control.

JSG509 reacted to SSL in [REVIEW] Beyerdynamic T1 2. Generation
I was going to do a full review on these headphones, including a head-to-head comparison with the DT 880 but I'm not sure there's any point.

Immediately after putting music through this headphone, I could hear something was off. The midrange on this headphone can only be described as "boxy", meaning an overemphasis in the 250-500Hz band.

My first thought was that I just needed to get used to the sound of a new headphone, having been using the DT 880 almost exclusively for over a year. Unfortunately, my impression of the headphone didn't improve with time; in fact it got worse. While the boxy midrange was apparent with just about any kind of musical program, it was shockingly apparent when listening to solo piano or cello, both of which have a lot of tonal character in the lower mid-range. These instruments sound nasally and closed-in from the T1.

What I am hearing is so strikingly awful, it's as if the T1 was made from two headphones, shoved together into a single perplexing mess. The upper mid-range is exceptionally sweet and clear, with an airy treble and expansive, layered soundstage. The bass digs deep and hits hard without losing control. Then in the middle you've got this shitty low mid-range showing it's lumbering ass, completely ruining the otherwise exceptional sonic presentation.

Now, you're probably thinking that I didn't have a good enough amplifier or needed to burn in the headphones with brown noise for like 200 hours (the ding dongs on head-fi certainly thought so). Well, as an experiment, I swapped the stock T1 pads with my DT 880 pads. The sickening, bloated midrange was completely gone. Of course, so was a lot of the bass, and the treble was now rather painful. But the point is that what I heard from these headphones out of the box is just how they were designed. In an attempt to rectify the lean bass of the original T1, beyerdynamic went and totally dicked up the mid-range. Apparently the people who knew what they were doing when they designed the DT 880 left and were replaced by a bunch of hacks who've never heard real music.

I guess the conclusion is that I should take my own advice and not buy expensive headphones without hearing them first. Also, I have to seriously wonder about beyerdynamic; this was their second official attempt to get the T1 right after a whole slew of issues, and this was the result? And why has no one else noticed this? I have to wonder if this isn't a case of "the emperor has no clothes". No one wants to admit that a $1k+ flagship headphone sounds like a piece of crap that was designed in an afternoon before being rushed out the door so idiots could throw money at it.

Maybe I'm being unfair here. Maybe I just got a lemon and should go through the process of exchanging it through Amazon in the hopes that this was just a weird manufacturing fluke with the pads or the driver or something. I'll explain why I'm not going to do that, and instead will be returning them and writing this nasty, negative review.

First, this is a flagship headphone positioned at $1100. At that price point, no headphone with such an obvious and glaring flaw should get out of the factory. All it would take is for some chump to put these on their head for like a minute to detect the problem. Second, I was assured by the beyerdynamic T1 product manager on head-fi that every T1 actually does go through a "100% quality control incl. extensive quality assurance of electrical and acoustic properties." So again, a very obvious flaw like this should have been caught in testing. Third, beyerdynamic has not had a great track record for designing amazing headphones in the past 10 years. The current DT line of headphones came out way back in 2005. Since then, beyerdynamic has treated us to a series of turds, in the form of the T70 and T90 (both ear-destroying treble-cannons), T5p (described by Tyll Hertsens of innerfideltiy.com as "an abomination of harshness") and the original T1, which suffered from insane levels of quality control problems - mismatched drivers, wildly varying frequency response from unit to unit, and multiple silent revisions. At this point I feel like I already gave beyerdynamic enough of a chance, just by buying their overpriced "flagship". I've wasted even more time writing this stupid review.

So if anyone's still wondering, I don't recommend these headphones, despite their obvious technical prowess and superiority to the DT 880 in numerous other areas. I guess if anyone wants to try them and contradict what I've laid out here, and do it in a constructive manner, they can go ahead. Otherwise, avoid the T1 "2. Generation". Thanks for reading.

Honestly the DX race style chairs are extremely underrated by people with the mentality that because its a gaming chair its over priced. I mean most of these people havent even tried them and if they have and say they are crap, all I can say they are worth the money you pay because when you look at other options they are way more expensive and dont offer much more comfort then the DX racer.  I have a Maxxnomic office comfort model and after trying many options over the years its the best investment I have ever maid.  The fact that you can adjust the arm rest to almost any level is now a standard for me and if a chair does not offer this option I dont even give it a second look.  Honestly I say buy the DX racer if anything its worth a tray and I think you will be glad you did.

Also if the build is like my Maxxnomic you will never feel the bottom of the seat, the foam used is extremely thick. Also I have sat in the chair for 24 hour streams and my ass never gets soar only my legs from not getting up to stretch them.

If you're looking for fact-based performance opinions, either here (from the regulars) or hydrogenaud.io are good places to ask. Head-fi can give you a good summary of how headphones sound when compared to each other (e.g. Headphone a has more treble and bass than headphone b, but headphone b has a much better mid range.) so head-fi does have its place, just don't go over there expecting completely factual stuff about headphones. Some brands you may want to look at (and keep in mind, this is a general suggestion, and many of these may be well outside your budget) would be Audeze, hifiman (particularly the he-500, although you will need an AMP, more than likely, and it will take your whole budget just for the headphones) the Sennheiser hd600 and 650 are much loved by many, and fall well within your budget, although the Philips x2 may be more to your liking. You should also look at the Beyer models, although I can't speak for any of them, as I haven't ever tried any of them, let alone even held a pair (although I did see the box of one, once... Lol)
Shure also has some decent over ears, but from what I've heard, they definitely aren't spectacular, at least the lowest priced one isn't, I think...

You're entering a zone of madness, confusion, audio-snobbism and information-overload so BE WARNED.

Headphones are highly subjective thing, HIGHLY but you can prosper out of reviews and unboxings but not much. There is no perfect headphone.

If you're looking for a bass heavy you will not get good mids and highs.
If you're looking for bigger soundstage you will most likely not get a good bass headphones and that treble will pierce your ears.
If you're looking for a flat/neutral one, you will be disappointed in one time, you might find them "dry-sounding" or too boring maybe and you will he to EQ them all the time forever.
If you're looking for a "fun" headphones (the emphasis will mostly be in sub-bass/bass and mids region) you will most likely loose even the basic sharpness of that treble.
If you're looking for "gaming" you will most likely end up with some headphones with weak bass response (really don't know wtf is with that, weak bass headphones for gaming? WTF).

    And all in all :

If you're looking for a closed set of cans that is atm of the most imperative for you for varios reasons you will most likely end up with "box-sound" chocked with bass etc.
If you're looking for more open version that will give you more accurate presentation of your sound you will most likely end up with almost non-existing bass and pretty high treble, not to mention that you MUST be alone when you're wearing them, I mean, NO ONE IN THE ROOM WITH YOU alone. If not you will annoy the crap out of anyone near you.

Now, I'm not even going to mention BUILD QUALITY in details because most of the time you will get pretty good all-around sound signature but bad build quality and vice versa.

Ah, and there are "the audiophiles" whos taste is impeccable and you're deaf of course.

And then again, if you want that perfect all-around sound and overall build quality with no trade-in's you must pay over 1000$/€ just for that headphones, lamp amplifiers not even counting. Period.

All in all, everything is strictly subjective and the best choice is that there is so many choices that will drive you mad.

$500 headphones are generally good, not absurd. Also, nice mics generally cost more than half of the OPs budget, so you wouldn't be able to get a "hella nice" mic and great headphones for the budget. Honestly, a separate mic is going to serve you much better than a headset would. You could go for a Philips Fidelio X2, and a vmoda boompro. That's a pretty good combo, and it gives you about $150 left for a dac/amp, although I'd like to point out that you probably won't need one, given that the Fidelios should be sufficiently sensitive. If you do insist on getting one though, an SMSL SD 793-II is pretty much as good as you'll ever need. Only caveat is that it's coax only, so if your motherboard doesn't have coax, you'll have issues, in which case there are other options, but that's the best one. As stated in previous posts, the hyperx are based on the takstar pro 80, which is already a decent headphone. That's why they are so hyped. They are actually decent headphones first, and they just happen to have a decent enough mic, so everyone is blown away by the quality, although you could just get a pro 80 and a Zalman clip mic, and be just as well off.
As I said above, you probably don't need one, but it's up to you.

If you can wait for the Asus PG279Q 27" 4ms, 144hz rumored that it might be higher, IPS, and G-sync I would. I mean it depends on if you do a lot of gaming like 80% more then the other stuff you mentioned. Its hard being stuck at 60hz when your titans are screaming to give you more. But if you do light gaming and the major load is content creation (Video Editing and Photo Editing) then I would go the LG 34UC87 rout.  Also Yes the Swift is a hit or miss but if you get a working one damn are they nice for gaming.
