  1. Yeah. I will just have to cross my fingers and see. Building an amplifier like that isn't out of the question, i just wish it wasn't my only option.
  2. RIght, This is what I liked in my original post, and is what I have already purchased. What i'm concerned is that the PWM signal sent from the CPU header may not be strong enough to be split 8 ways and still be affective.
  3. No, definitely the PWM signal only as power is handled via SATA or Molex adapter (depending on splitter you use). The 4pin connector to the CPU_Fan header on these adapters only use 2 pins (PWM and tac), the other two are empty. I ran into an issue last night where two of my SP120 (quiet) fans in my 4 fan push/pull rad config started making a weird vibration noise I can only describe as sounding like a cicada. I'm not sure if it's the fan that failed or the shotty craftsmanship of the 1 to 4 pin splitter that I'm using, so I want to order the above part to hopefully resolve this and allow me to move 3 other fans to the same PWM signal. If the PWM signal does turn out to be too weak, is there any risk to damaging the fans?
  4. Hello, I'm looking into a way to run 8 SPA120 fans from a single PWM CPU_FAN header. A device Linus used in his all room water cooled build, http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IF6R4C8?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00, looks to be exactly what I need to do this. It sends the PWM signal to all fans, while powering them via SATA. My question is, will the PWM signal from my motherboard be strong enough to reach/run all 8 fans? I have read that the SPA fans require strong signal, and that motherboards have issues with more than 5 fans. Are there any products that can help with this? Should I be worried? Thanks!
  5. Yep, this is exactly what I did. I dug a bit more into products and found one that would support up to 8 fans by sending the PWM signal to them all, while powering them via molex. Exactly as you suggested.
  6. Hi all, I would like to run a Push/Pull on my H105 240mm radiator, but am unsure if my motherboard (ASUS Sabertooth p67) will support 4 PWM fans on a single 4pin CPU_FAN header using a 1-4 splitter. The fans I'm looking at buying are the Corsair SP 120 Quiet Edition that each run @ 12v/0.08amps. I've already checked my mobo manual/online documentation, but found nothing to really help me out. Does anyone know the maximum supported amps/voltages that the 4pin CPU_FAN header supports? Your help is greatly appreciated!
