  1. @smicha Are you planning to do this again with the 1080ti when (if) they launch it later this year? EDIT: Realised Octane only supports CUDA
  2. If your planning to use your GPU for for a couple of millennia maybe...otherwise no
  3. Basically turbo boost with your CPU (so yes OC). If thermals allow, it will increase the frequency of your gpu core and memory. In other words don't fret about it as long as your thermals are under 80 degrees c under full load you'll be fine. Considering the manufacturer does this, it won't damage your GPU.
  4. Really? I thought you were rounding up. I was just questioning the logic of Intel saying that the RRP was $6400 vs $6401. Whats the point?

  6. "From my understanding it is the fastest RAM cards atm so 32 should be sufficient and the speed should be very reliable." - What? RAM speed literally has no tangible benefits in terms of fps in games unless running an APU.
  7. We have fought for freedom.... We are the leaders of the free world.... etc.... All the Americans have done is cock up the middle east and then blame Russia for it. The American government is simply an infestation of oil thirsty crooks that use their army to assert their ill fated power and ruin the lives of innocent people. If you think that is a reason to celebrate your great country than be my guest.
  8. Make sure the motherboard you buy isn't a bottleneck. For example, the Z97-P has a 10 gigabit m.2 slot but the ssd you mention has read and write speeds much higher than this figure (Read 3000MB/s, Write 2400MB/s). Keep this in mind when buying a motherboard or m.2 to pcie adaptor card.
  9. No an SSD isn't that important in not worth 20-30 fps in games. For a couple yes. For 20-30 no. Save up as an SSD is always an easy upgrade when you can afford it. Also, are you getting a RX480 4GB or 8GB. Your original post says 4GB and your last one says 8GB?
  10. In games...yes. Completely agree, but personally I would trade a couple of FPS for a snappier system any day of the week.
  11. True but it's better than nothing. Even if you don't get exact data, you should still be able to see a general trend.
  12. Surely doing it with arm based SOC's should still yield meaningful data when comparing load vs lifespan. Doing it with a dozen raspberry pi zero's would be a cool test.
  13. Question @Slick, Do you think you could do a similar experiment where one PC is placed under a stress test of something like Aida64 or Prime95 and another is placed at idle to see if load affects a PC's lifespan?
  14. They stay. During boot up and in the bios screen, the fans don't follow the ai suite curve. As soon as you hit the login screen, they follow the curve.
  15. Yeah your grammar. Just kidding. Looks good. The whole dollars- GCSE's thing was misquoted. I wanted to quote the OP. Also, @donggun222, why don't you buy a pre built PC and plonk in an SSD and an extra stick of RAM?
  16. As the question states, what is the write endurance of a Lexmar P20 128GB? It comes with a lifetime warranty so I assume it is quite high but anyone know an approximate figure. I tried contacting Lexmar but they had no answer. Thanks
  17. I swear they don't make 7tb HDD's, Did you mean 6 or 8?
  18. I just bought a 128gb lexmar p20 on cyber monday and plan to plonk it into my router.
