  1. Try resetting the BIOS and do a BIOS update, that might help.
  2. Just want to show appreciation to the Xigmatek brand of PSU, I have a Xigmatek Vector S 850W that I bought in 2010 and its still going strong in my daily gaming PC. I abuse this PSU quite a bit, I leave my PC on for 24/7 most days since ~2011, gaming from 17:00 to 00:30, VM's running. Would like to hear from other Xigmatek owners if they have to say the same thing about their reliability. Thanks Xigmatek!
  3. BlueScreenView will allow you to see the BSOD history, post it here and it should give us clues. On a side note i used to love EVGA precision until EVGA precision X came out, never liked it after that. Moved to MSI AB, never looked back.
  4. Simply, I have folders on my Windows 10 PC that i share via right clicking on the folder and selecting share. Other devices on Wi-Fi/the network use VLC which sees my PC name to which i enter my password and i can see all my shared folders. Streaming like this works 100% untill the internet drops then the streaming either stops or cant be played (ininite loading circle). It must be a setting on my router such as DNS, my network setup is as follows: Fibre-> CPE (fibre termination box)-> Ethernet-> Router 1 (WAN)-> Router 1 (LAN4)-> Ethernet-> Router 2 [AP mode] (LAN1) Router 1 details: TP-Link Archer C2 Standard config, DNS: 8.8.8.8 & 1.1.1.1 <-This might be the issue, would setting the secondary DNS to Router 1's IP solve this? Router 2 details: D'link DIR 852 DHCP disabled Please do not convince me to use Plex or other streaming server software, this works perfectly should the internet be up. Thanks.
  5. Hmmm, I cant do this as my awesome Noctua aftermarket cooler wont work on AMD. And shopping across the world for the right brackets are an issue.
  6. I'm in the market to buy a CPU this black friday, but im stuck between a rock an a hard place... Do i go with the i7-8700k or the i7-9700k. 6 cores 12 threads vs 8 cores and 8 threads. My mind is telling me to get the 8700k but im just not 100% sure, also the 9700k has solder under the HS whereas the 8700k doesn't.
  7. I think he wants to remove the old CPU thermal paste anything that isnt corrosive, oxidative or sticky is fine but it must have a high alcohol content.
  8. If you can find denatured alcohol, also called Methylated spirits/meths, you can use that too. Its usually a dark shade or magenta/purple.
  9. I have the same problem, when my asus mobo was damaged I could only find a new MSI mobo as a replacement. The Asus one worked 100% with Speedstep and in conjunction with windows power management. Now the rubbish MSI board just ignores Speedstep/windows and it stays at max speed even when a lightweight program is open.
  10. Ive seen this before, how much ram do you have? Im guessing the pagefile is being used.
  11. Im really not keen to move to windows 8.1, but I will load win 8.1 to a spare HDD and test just to rule it out.
