You don't want to have a risk of literally any liquid. Let it sit for a few days.
If something is even a little wet inside it can short something out and brick your phone (if it's not already)

Where are the 1070s to prevent order? I can't find them anywhere.
But it seems hart to justify a $200 gpu if you are going to be buying a $600-800 headset

It basically screws into a PCI slot on the case, you plug it into the fan plug and it pulls cool air from the back onto the GPU

    Correct.
It is also recommended to make a backup of all your data before, just in case your HDD/SSD decides it would be a great time to fail during the re-installation process.

There will be loads of new tech coming out in the next little while.

You should wait until about two weeks or so until you plan to actually buy everything in order to plan your build the best.

Yup! Only C:\ will be affected.
But you'll will need to re-install all programs even if they are installed on another drive.

Thought I would move my build over here as I have a new sponser onboard and this build is going to have crazy amounts of watercooling in it.

So I am back again and this time not just going to be modding a case, for the first time I will be building my own case and not just any case, I will be doing a full desk with an X99 system on one side and I am thinking of Wii U or PS4 on the other side.

I have no list of gear yet but as this will be the last big build before my baby girl is born I will be going all out.

Here is a 3D render on how I plan on building it, I am not 100% sure on the legs, I was thinking of making the desk height adjustable using electronic actuator.

As you see I plan to have four 480mm Radiators( two in the sides and Two in the back) they will be sponsored by Alphacool so I will be using Monsta's, I will be using Four of Primochills CTR res with four D5 pumps.

I am not sure if I should go for a theme or if I shoudl just go a nice color.

I have the start of the desk I just need to get the welder out or even learn to use one haha anyone on the gold coast that can weld PM me please.

PS, yes that is a TJ11 I use to hold my tarp down.

I've had this same issue occur with a Dell XPS 15 and its onboard Realtek audio. Something broke your audio drivers/codecs. Usually it's Microsoft Update. For example: on the XPS 15 I noticed in the system log that it turned itself on at 4am and started updating things. Lo and behold when my client tried to use his computer at 8am, it would not start.

Since Windows Recovery still works (the Failed to Start error is the Recovery), find the option that says Refresh my PC. If you updated to the latest build of Win10, Refresh my PC might have been renamed to Reset my PC, in which case when you click on it, simply select Keep my Data and allow Windows to reinstall itself.

    Awesome!
With the Motherboard's thermal armour, are you going to paint on the diagonal orange parts etc?
If so, do them all at the same angle, (in case you didn't know) its how the guy designed the Asiimov Guns.

Also I think it would be awesome if you added some orange accents to the outside of the case
    But really, Just an Idea.
I hope this goes well, I cant wait to see it come together

Dougieman1001 reacted to ClownFace1511 in [Completed][Scratch Build] Project: Ravage - Custom Watercooled Computer Table Build by 17 yr old.
Hey everyone my name is Thom,

I've been a member of the forum for some time now and a subscriber of LinusTechTips for a few years. Being 17 years old I'm still in school, in fact in my last year (Yr 12). Along with that I get to do a “Major Work” for my industrial tech Timber class. This “Major Work” can be anything we want, we must design it, then make it. Along with this we need to make an 80 page folio showing everything from steps of construction to drawings and tools used. We have about 8 months to create our project which is then marked by a group of judges who travel the state and mark the projects from each school. In 2014 I came Dux (First Place) in this subject with a mark of 96% I put a lot of effort into my projects and spend a lot of time designing and planning them.  Being my last year I decided to go big or go home, something that is different than a coffee table, a chair, etc. I decided to make this “Project: Ravage” a modded computer table.

You may be wondering why “Project: Ravage”? Well Ravage is to “cause severe and extensive damage to”, e.g my wallet and then benchmarks. I’m 100% sure none of the judges have seen this before so I'm hoping to blow their minds away. The project has changed so many times since last November when I started to plan it, come to think of it, the first design had 780ti’s in it, which has now been replaced by 980ti’s. Table will be fully water cooled with custom tubing.

The top of this table will be made out of Tasmanian Oak with a oil matte finish. To add to this there will be a sheet of glass over the wood top which will be laminated and toughened so it won't shatter or crack. I have always used tables with glass on the top and I like how they don't wear out or get damaged (as easily) like the timber would. This timber is light and will contrast well with the dark stained legs.

The Legs are made out of 70x70 pine with a few pieces of Tasmanian oak accents. These legs will be stained a dark brown/black and then lacquered to a matte finish.

For the box underneath I will be using Meranti. It’s like pine but without the knots. Its got a nice clean grain and looks like a premium timber but without the price tag. This box will be lacquered and kept with the timer look to match the table top and offset from the dark legs.

I never did Multimedia in school because the classes were at same time as timber so I never got taught AutoCAD or any other fancy programs. I taught myself how to use sketchup and with that knowledge I designed this table from scratch over a time span of 2-3 months. Throughout this time the table changed quiet a bit to account for different parts, cooling, aesthetics and the normal R&D stuff but it finally came down to this.

I have also just about finished my other build I can focus on this a lot more, here is a couple of pictures.

    Dougieman1001 reacted to Captain_WD in Mechanical HDD Sata 3 3gb/s vs 6gb/s?
Hey there Dougieman1001, Happy New Year!   The limit of SATAII (3Gb\s) actually is 300MB/s (given the encoding overhead) which is still well over what any current HDD can achieve. You should be fine with a mechanical HDD. If using a SSD on that port it would be limited and it would reach speeds of about 285MB/s-295MB/s sequential read/write speeds.    There are 3.5" HDDs that can go well over the 200MB/s barrier (WD VelociRaptor or the WD Black 6TB) but would hardly reach the SATAII limitations.   Feel free to ask if you happen to have questions!   Captain_WD.
