  1. Thanks for testing the Belkin braided cable. I've been using it for more than 2 years, along with the 3.3ft one, to connect my Apple TV - soundbar - LG TV. Does this mean all shield/gnd pins are connected together instead of being separate? What would be the impact of this; does it really matter since they are just shields? I picked this cable because I was having issues with CEC volume control failing from time to time, with many other cables. I figured since this one is so expensive it shouldn't have any issues. After that I concluded it was a software bug later fixed by Apple, but I still have CEC issues once every few months. Ironically Apple sells the cheaper non-braided variant in their store
  2. Does anyone know where I can buy a custom-length reservoir tube that will fit an EK-XRES combo? I need something close to 150mm. EK only sells X3 tubes of 104 and 204mm. The reason is I that I want to clamp the end of the tube to my case, and I need it to reach the mounting spot. If I had a lathe I would just cut the 204mm and re-do the thread. But I don't, and I don't know anyone who has one.
  3. Thanks you for the reply. My CPU is not delidded, all stock. I was careful to apply about 2 grains of thermal compound, but I did not exaggerate when tightening the monoblock because of past experiences with RAM issues due to MB bending. I found someone having the same problem with this block and he was able to fix it by adding more washers at the back of the motherboard. Perhaps I will try this later. I also contacted EK support to ask for their opinion.
  4. @reniat Sorry to hijack your topic, but I was wondering, have you made any progress with your temps? I have similar hardware running on much, much less cooling capacity, and after switching to the EK Z270E monoblock my temps went through the roof. MB: Asus Z270G CPU: 7700K stock GPU: Asus 1080 Ti Poseidon Cooling: Swiftech H220-X With the original Apogee XL waterblock, the CPU was reaching 77 under Prime. With the EK monoblock it will reach 97. CPU idle temps are exactly the same so I believe the monoblock is mounted properly. GPU temps are exactly the same, so I do not think there is an issue with the loop. All tested in the same setup/environment of course, except the fans+pump spin faster on the EK due to the high temps. Perhaps the problem is with the monoblock design, adding heat from the VRM?
  5. I always liked the idea of ultra short throw projectors. This one has a bit of an odd look, but the specs are great.
  6. Ok, thanks for the feedback. iFixit support got back to me saying the roll is actually designed for a tight fit because the material gets loose over time. Though I would say my kit is more than "a little tight". I guess time will tell.
  7. Sorry I dissapointed you. I know you were getting ready to fly halfway around the world to help.
  8. I just got my toolkit last week (sorry guys, I couldn't use the offer code) and I have an issue with the tool roll. It won't close properly no matter what I do. The velcro strips only line up about half way, and that's with quite a bit of pull on my part. I have already contacted iFixit support and they are very eager to help, but so far their suggestions didn't work. It's an ongoing discussion, and in the meantime I thought I'd see if anyone else is having the same problem, or maybe someone can spot what I'm doing wrong. I even tried removing some of the bulky tools and it's still not closing properly.
