  1. Done that now and still nothing, idk i guess ill just contact acer directly and hope for the best thanks for your help though
  2. Thanks, ive done all of that now but the DP option in the monitor settings is still greyed out and freesync is still saying its not supported. Is there anything else i could try?
  3. So should i uninstall the current driver and then install it automatically instead of manually?
  4. I'm pretty confident ive got all my drivers up to date so i dont think thats part of the issue.
  5. Yeah, this is one of the things i found as well, i already had the latest driver for AMD so i found and downloaded the latest driver for acer but i cant change the DP format on my monitor which is the only thing i havent been able to do. I cant find anything about other people having greyed out option either
  6. Hey guys, so recently got an Acer XG270HU and im trying to get freesync working but when i go onto Radeon settings it says that freesync isn't supported. I'm running a R9 390 which should be compatible but even so its not working. Ive been searching on forums for a while and a reoccurring solution is to make sure that the DP format is set to 1.2 on your monitor settings but when i went to check this the option is greyed out. I feel like this is the reason i cant get freesync running so if anyone knows why this is happening and how to fix it id very much appreciate it. Note- i know for a fact its not a problem with the cable itself.
  7. Im changing to a 390 now as well as some of the other stuff now thanks to the suggestions but is a Gold rated PSU really necessary?
  8. Hey guys, i'm planning on building my first PC but i thought it would be best to check everything first to see if i can do better. Thanks in advance to anyone who helps 1. Budget & Location All up i'm happy to spend up to around the $2400 mark on it as i'm hoping to use it for about 5 years while upgrading occasionally 2. Aim I used to be console only but i'm starting to get into PC gaming, specifically more graphic intensive games like the Witcher series, tomb raider etc. I'm also going to be doing school stuff on it as well like adobe after effects and some music editing software and of course general web browsing. I was going to overclock after doing more research so i would appreciate some advice on that front as well. 3. Monitors I'm thinking of getting a single 1440p moderately priced monitor and i wasn't planning to go multiple monitors but i'm open to any suggestions. 4. Peripherals I've already got a keyboard, mouse etc that i currently use with my laptop and i'm going to be buying Windows 8.1 OS for the PC build 5. Why are you upgrading? I have had my HP envy for a while but i'm finally getting around to investing in a PC that i can put on my new desk and play some different games than i used to now that i have more time on my hands. So i've got a friend that i'm going to be building my system with (separate systems) and he knows a lot more about computers than me so he helped me with some of the processes of choosing parts and how everything worked and stuff like that but i just thought id check some forums before i invested so much money into something. This is what i have so far but i'm honestly open to changing anything even if it means sacrificing my prefered blue colour scheme. http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/kXxDsY CPU- AU$350 Intel Core i5-4690K CPU Cooler- $80 Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO Motherboard- $170 MSI Z97 PC Mate ATX Memory- $200 G.Skill Ares Series DDR3-1866 2x8GB Storage- $140 OCZ Arc 100 Series 120GB - $80 Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5 Video Card- $530 MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GB Case- $160 NZXT Phantom 410 ATX Mid Tower (Black) Power Supply- $115 Corsair CX 600W 80+ Bronze Optical Drive- $30 Asus DRW-24B1ST OS- $130 Windows 8.1 Monitor- $370 QNIX QX2710 Evolution II DP Multi True 10 1440p Network Card- $35 Intel EXPI9301CTBLK Fan- $30 Corsair Air Series AF120-LED 120mm Total: $2420- of course i might be able to find some of the parts cheaper This is my first time attempting to build a PC so any recommendations would be greatly appreciated
