Sailordude9980 got a reaction from b1969 in Corsair Fan Making Rattling Noises
Perhaps the screw got loose? Sometimes a SATA / Power cord can get too close to the fan. Seems simple, but you would be surprised how many people miss it (circling my face)

Sailordude9980 got a reaction from Laterus in Advice on upgrade
Would be a great upgrade Agree with M. Yurizaki. 6700K isn't worth the cost for what you are going to be doing.

How are you formatting the CD? Did you media creation tool?

Sailordude9980 got a reaction from RaresKool in Trouble installing Windows (CD)
Have you tried going into the bios and force booting to your CD?
Also, if you have another PC lying around, try to create another Media recovery Tool (Windows recovery disk)

Hello
I am about 15 years removed from Gaming due to various military deployments over the years. Ive never been able to commit to gaming as a hobby until now.
Disclaimer:. Just because my rig is expensive, I still get my arse beat in seconds by any FPS, MMO online play. (Who probably has a 300 dollar machine)
Corsair 900D
Intel I7-6700 Unlocked
Asus Z170 Deluxe Motherboard
EVGA NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 Ti SLI Crucial 256GB SSD X3 RAID 5
Samsung NVMe M.2 x2 RAID 0
27" Asus ROG 144HZ Swift Monitor x 3
Windows 10 Pro
Corsair h100i GTX
Sound Blaster Z
Corsair DDR4 2133mhz 32GB
Corsair K95 Keyboard
Corsair mouse
Razer Tarturus
Bucket of Chicken
I am not a rich kid. Just older and in some cases dumber.
I will probably write an "after action" report on my experience with running games in surround / SLI. It hasnt always been pretty.

Sailordude9980 reacted to DXMember in 87-key Macro Keyboard
That's a really good content, probably the most useful and interesting in a year or two...
but there's just one problem....
As Taran already pointed out this has already been completely covered by Tom Scott and is basically a rehash...
The excuse was the lac of Lua scrip sample codes... c'mon Lua has been used in basically every PC game modding community and there are literally thousands of samples around the net

Nice video Taran!
I use programmable keys called X-keys from P.I Engineering for live-switching in video production, also a great tool in video-editing.

Solved - It's the F key, which was what I was pressing, but you have to go at a certain angle when you climb on the apc

Sailordude9980 reacted to itachipirate in Is there a general PC trouble shooting checklist
A general checklist would take months to write and days to read through. "System cleaners" often contain viruses, unless you go with the well-known and good programs. (Ccleaner is good, there are many others I just can't think of right now) The logs are often useless to all but the most knowledgeable computer enthusiasts. You kinda just have to know which problems point to which areas of software. If you post whatever PC problems you're having I'll try to point you in the right direction! (And so will a ton of other people on the LTT forums)

Sailordude9980 reacted to LogicalDrm in Overclcoking Vs. Not Overclocking?
Overclocking has little effect if you are using current gen hardware to run current gen games. It becomes more important when you have few year old hardware and you are trying to get better performance in newer games. It depends on game how much better performance gets.
Cons would be more heat, little shorter lifetime for components involved, higher power requirements and noise from coolers.

Thank you, Thank you Thank you. Being 35 and learning code is really really hard for me. I know my way around a computer and can do most PC tasks, but I will tell you this:
I will never ever criticize a program Dev again....or it least until I get good at programming.
Thank you for being apart of Team Human

You dont need to move it, you can just map the server as a drive on the PC and launch steam and install the game to the servers hard drive
ive done it and it runs fine

Sailordude9980 reacted to Godlygamer23 in Request opinion on GPU temp (new install)
If you decide to use it, be careful and I would suggest not using it to verify an overclock. People have had passes with Furmark but instant crashes in games.
-
Sailordude9980 reacted to Godlygamer23 in Request opinion on GPU temp (new install)
Furmark also puts an unrealistic load on the GPU which will not be met in a video game. It's not a very good tool to use IMO and some people have had cards ruined because of it.

Sailordude9980 reacted to Godlygamer23 in Request opinion on GPU temp (new install)
Temperatures are fine - they could be better, but no signs of overheating at all.
