A few things I would change.

Like another user said, you might aswell buy into the newest. So I found a 7700K, and a RGB (Red is something you seem to want from the build) Z270 motherboard for around the same price and the 7600k combo, went for the Intel 600p M.2 SSD over the 2.5' Samsung because its $1 more and a hell of a lot faster.
CPU cooler, this was basically the cheapest cooler I would trust with such a beefy chip. (I would also suggest you look at local prices for a Hyper 212 evo).
I found a pretty decent deal on 144hz AOC gaming G-Sync monitors for $25ish less then the ones you have selected reviews are really good on them too.
Ram, found a 3200mhz kit for a cheaper price also matching the red theme.

    Hope that helps.

So I built a PC based on that price point that would match what I said above.

Left alittle room for a second monitor.
And I got a really decent air cooler in there so you can easily hit that 5.0 Ghz mark
Also managed to fir in a 1080 in the budget instead of a 1070.
And  keeped the red theme. Even getting a really good price for RED LED ram cheaper then even stock DDR4.

Look when it comes to a content creation perspective having good color reproduction and fast SSD storage so you can scrub through 4k footage at a decent pace is important.
For gaming you want a good CPU  (something with strong single core performance) and GPU.

Look I personally would get a IPS (for the color reproduction 4k monitor for editing) and the G-Sync 144hz for gaming, and use both. You don't have to have the g-sync on when playing if you are not a fan of it in games like CS:GO. but trust me you will want it for other games.

The I7 7700K is anywhere from 5-15% faster then the I7 6700K and its basically the same price. You also get the benefits Kaby Lake architecture brings
All mid-high range motherboards have fantastic audio solutions, there is basically no need to buy a sound card anymore for a PC.

The things you would want are as follows:

-M.2 SSD with NVME support for crazy good transfer and read speeds to use as a scratch disk and OS drive.
-144hz capable monitor (I would suggest getting the one that supports G-Sync because it costs alittle less and G-sync is a fantastic feature that you will want on other games.)
-A IPS 4k monitor for editing and color reproduction (I would suggest this to be larger then 24 Inch (having more space to work in when editing is important)

If you can use any spare money you saved from the monitor swap put towards either your CPU cooler or GPU (try and fit in a 1080) or a decent cooler to overclock that CPU to over 5.0Ghz.

Take the list I gave you and work from that.

What was your overall budget again. Ill try and build something that will suit your needs at a price that doesn't break the bank.

Basically same laptop (spec wise but has DDR4 RAM) just another option you can choice from at the same price point.
You also get a free 2.5'' drive slot to add in another HHD/SSD in future upgrades. Also, it comes with 8GB in the deal but if you want to pay another $38 you can get 16gb.. or just save the money and add the second stick later on.
also reviews are solid and comes with free shipping if you have prime.

The fact my case does not have a PSU basement, It makes cable management that much harder and overall makes the build look sloppy.
    So I made a custom one:P
Also not having VELCRO tie down points for cables. Man its a pain in the ass to use zip ties and when you have to change a component you have to cut up the entire cable management run to get at what you need.

Also I hate cases that don't have flat'ish tops, Often there are things needed to be put on a case (like and external HHD, or phone connected to charge or connect) and having a un even surface often means things slipping behind the rig never to been seen again.

Mcmole reacted to Imakuni in Need some advice and tips to overclocking!
    Dirty OC guide:
Start at 1.2v and stock speeds. Stress for around 10min and: If peak temps are below 80C, increase the voltage by one notch If they are in the 80~83 range, leave voltage as is and move on to the next step If they are in the 84 and above, decrease voltage by a notch. Now that you know your max voltage (my guess would be around 1.35v, given the cooler), fiddle with the multiplier. 41 should be a decent starting point. Stress test it and keep pushing until you find instability, then back off a notch. Always be mindful of your temps, though! After that, you can perhaps play with Bclk to try and squeeze some extra performance. Or try to reduce voltage a bit.
