  1. Look at the Lenovo y50. Seems to have everything you wanted.
  2. I'm assuming you'd be using the mechanical keyboard. College isn't just you; college is about everyone. Personally, I would despise you if you came to class and started using a mechanical keyboard..
  3. Have you looked at the Lenovo y50 series and the Sager lines? They typically have pretty good laptops. Also the Asus Zenbook is right at your budget and is pretty light/good for gaming.
  4. How was your customer support experience? Do you think your laptop was a 'good buy'? What are your dislikes about your laptop? *preferably give your laptop ID too* Thanks!
  5. Hi! Personally I'll be getting a Sager NP8671-s Notebook for college. It's fairly lightweight, looks pretty good, and has great specs by default.. not to mention 17.3''... Link: http://www.sagernotebook.com/Notebook-NP8671-S.html
  6. Lets not bash his choice to buy an Alienware I would go for the 240W PSU. It'll be very worth the extra cash.
  7. You can replace batteries most of the time, so after 2-3 years I think that's a viable option.
  8. Take a look at some Sager or Gigabyte products. Good 'bang for your buck'!
  9. It honestly depends what you're into.. CPU power can be worth it if you're doing video rendering/editing.
  10. Acer V Nitro's seem to have some build quality issues, as well as a terrible track-pad. Personally, I'd steer clear of the Nitro edition laptops.
  11. I suppose, but as a college student, battery life isn't everything. Sure you're going to be doing work in between classes, but for the most part, you're able to stay plugged in. All classes usually have power outlets, and a usual laptop (gaming) will last for around 2-4 hours, which is more than enough time for most people before they need to be plugged in again.
  12. Well there's other cheaper options that are very similar to this notebook, so he can check them out too!
  13. I think it's pretty cool - I really like the sleek design and the SLI configuration. Seems like a solid build, but I've heard a lot of stuff about the fan noise and temperatures. If you're looking at getting one, you could always order one, try it out, and see if you like it!
  14. I think you should go with whatever one you want There's so many options no-a-days, and if you keep on trying to decide which one, it's going to take forever for you to choose! Personally, I would recommend some Sager models. You said you wanted to edit videos, and Sager makes computers with desktop CPUs in them! They're a bit pricey, but there's also many other models that are worth it. I personally own the NP8651-S model, and I can say, it's freaking awesome. Best of luck choosing; let me know which one you decide to go with!
  15. I suggest the Sager NP8651-S! Very cool laptop with great specs, and at an unbeatable price. http://www.sagernotebook.com/Notebook-NP8651-S.html
