  1. But it has never gotten that hot before. Im not doing anything intense. And that is why I am confused. And about half of the cores broke 70, but every one of them was above 64c
  2. So I have had my PC for about a month now, and have had no problems, which is as too expect with a 3930k, 16gb of ram, and a GTX 780. I am running the 3930k with an antec kuhler h2o 650. I know that this is a single 120mm aio, but it was the best deal I could find at the moment. So I have been playing smite. CSGO, Borderlands 2, and Bulletstorm on maxed settings at 1080p without any issues, until today that is. I was in the middle of a smite game. And the led indicator on my aio turned bright red indicating that it was running really hot. And with the red led, came rpm adjustments on the fan, which made the rad fan spin very fast. I checked my temps, and all 6 cores were above 60c. Now, I have never even touched 60c once on smite ever before today, so I really have no clue what it was. But then I was playing CS, and the same thing happened. So I turned all the gfx settings down to low, and even changed res to 720p, but nothing would cool it down. I then sent into the bios, and turned turbo mode off, and even disabled 2 cores, but it was still running super hot. I decided to let it cool off overnight. But I am worried about it. Do I just need a new cooler, or what?
  3. So tonight I have been looking into Rainbow Six Siege, and it looks like a sweet game that will lend itself directly into competitive play. I know that I am personally gonna get it, and hope that I may actually be able to start a following in the eSports community. Now I know that most people in eSports, are COD fans, and if not, then you're limited to Smite, CS:GO, LoL, and DOTA. I like the diversity that Siege will bring gameplay wise, with the fully destructable environment, and you essentially having to figure out a good way to counter set up defensive positions quickly like that, but it for sure is gonna take pure teamwork. I know that most eSports titles can have that one guy that just dominates(I'm looking at you Call of Duty, but I don't see that in Siege, because if you don't work as a cohesive unit, then you're screwed. What do you guys think. I'll read these all responses in the morning since it is 2am, lol
  4. Now it is sitting directly at 50°C. It seems high, but I'm not for sure
  5. Ok. Although, I am sitting in the bios and my cpu is at upper 40s for temp. Is that normal or high? This is the first PC I've built
  6. Ya, I applied a decent amount of thermal paste, I screwed it in evenly, and how do I tell if the pump is running? The fan on the radiator is running...
  7. I haven't even made it to the bios, much less the windows homepage. So it is OK to let it turn on like that? And if it gets too hot, it will turn off? Just want to make sure
  8. Ok, so I got finally got my PSU today, and I plugged everything in, and I went to start up the computer and it starts just fine. But before I can even make it to my bios, the led indicator on the antec kuhler h2o 650 turns red, so I shut it off, so I don't overheat my cpu. I am running a 3930k on a rampage IV Extreme. It would be awesome if you guys could help me. I just don't want to screw up my cpu
  9. I have a Rampage IV Extreme, and the guy who had it before me had one of the noctua coolers on it. Do you think it would work?

  11. So I found a slightly used antec h2o 650 water cooler but it doesn't come with any of the backplates. I got my motherboard used, and it already has a backplate on it, so I was wondering if I could use the backplates that is already on the mobo, or if I need to get another socket 2011 backplate?
  12. Also true. I found someone selling a computer with an i3 and a 750ti for 800 on Craigslist... I wanted to punch myslef in the face
  13. Microcenter does have some rediuclous deals too. Especially with some of the budles for the CPU and mobos
