  1. Keep mine on an Ikea Alex drawer next to my desk. A little messy with the peripherals but I don't mind
  2. Gotcha. It gets the best of us sometimes
  3. If you don't mind a 1600x900 IPS panel, I found a Dell P2014H for just under $200 CAD. Not sure if it supports VESA, but i'm just going to assume it doesn't. Cheapest place I found was on Amazon: https://www.amazon.ca/Dell-Computer-P2014H-20-Inch-LED-Lit/dp/B00FUTDRWY?ie=UTF8&tag=pcp0f-20 Edit: fixed link
  4. If you want, I found some matte 27 inch monitors from dell (QHD like the others) : https://www.amazon.com/Dell-UltraSharp-27-Inch-LED-Lit-Monitor/dp/B00P0EQD1Q Other than that, go with the Asus monitors
  5. Do you want the glossy screen of the Dell or the the matte finish of the Asus. Other than that, price is the only thing. I personally would prefer the Dell monitors, but I'm a sucker for Dell products and trying to get some U2515Hs from them myself
  6. It's not a major difference in performance between the two CPUs. Honestly, I believe it's between 10-15% improvement on the 6700k over the 4790k
  7. That's kinda difficult. Not many case manufacturers really go past 200mm as far as I know.
  8. If the computer is mostly for gaming, go ahead and do the i5 and 980ti. As it is, your parts certainly aren't lacking any horsepower (except maybe at 4k)
  9. You probably save some money on the mobo. Other than that the build looks great.
  10. Yes, but I honestly can't justify the $50-100 markup on the 4790k unless overclocking is a must. But I doubt he would need to overclock for maybe a 1% increase in workflow speed.
  11. Yes, because it has 8 logical cores that would work really well for his work. It's much better in comparison to a non-hyperthreaded 4 core such as i5 processors.
  12. Instead of getting a Z97 board and a 4690k, go for a H97 board as it's much cheaper and get a Xeon E3-1231v3. around the same price but has hyperthreading is still pretty decent for gaming.
  13. The best thing I could think of was buying a white case and using some paint (such as Plastidip for example) to give it lime green accents.
  14. 144 Hz is exactly what he needs tho. Moba and FPS benefit from higher refresh rate over size.
