RuLeZ reacted to Arika in Wired vs Wifi for Gaming
if you can use wired go for it. if you cant wireless will be fine. however because you're experiencing issues there might be too much interference between you and the router.look at something like a Powerline to possible fix the issue

Yeah, I said my budget is up to 600€, not 2000€...

RuLeZ reacted to AmateurPCGuy in 12" laptop for college... with HD screen?
Well, let's be real here first. 12" and Full HD? Throw that idea out of the window, there's barely any laptops that has that feature.
Second, with the theoretical amount of work that you're gonna give your laptop once you entered college (especially with IT), You best be getting a decent laptop with a 2-core, 4-thread processor with dedicated graphics. Personal opinion? Get this Acer laptop and call it a day: https://www.amazon.com/Acer-E5-575G-57D4-15-6-Inches-Notebook-i5-7200U/dp/B01LD4MGY4/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1500038966&sr=1-1&refinements=p_n_shipping_option-bin%3A3242350011%2Cp_n_operating_system_browse-bin%3A12035945011%2Cp_n_intended_use_browse-bin%3A9647499011%2Cp_36%3A2421887011%2Cp_n_graphics_type_browse-bin%3A14292273011 plus its just about 500 euros (as of writing this). You can use the extra money in the budget to swap the HDD in there with an SSD, and put the HDD in an external enclosure or something. Oh wait, second looks tells me that the laptop already has an SSD, so just buy an external drive with the extra budget

RuLeZ reacted to PCGuy_5960 in G4560 or 6600k
The 6600K is not worth it, get a Ryzen 5 1400 or 1600. If you have to get an Intel CPU get an i7 7700 (with a B250 board)

RuLeZ reacted to PlayStation 2 in Is Chrome getting worse?
I fucking hate the way Chrome handles hardware acceleration. Not only can it not do it properly, dropping frames on an MP4 video at 720p60 (don't get me fucking started at how it can get at 1080p), it's just very inefficient all-around. Edge has proven to me to handle video way better through YouTube.

RuLeZ reacted to TheAmazingCookieFromSquare in i7-7500U is good for programming and virtual machines?
You see storage isn't an issue here. Nor is programming or Visual Studio. Programming C++ (I'm guessing because of visual studio?) does not take much at all. You can write codes on machines with Celeron
It's the fact that you stated Adobe and VM's. You might want 4 physical cores instead of hyper threaded ones for best performance. I used to run virtual machines and unless you're running windows XP on your VM allocating 1 core is pretty shitty IMO. From my experience, I would allocate at least 2 cores to a win 10 VM. Your results may vary because I don't really know anything about running VM's on hyperthreaded cores and whether or not if that is even possible since I never had an i7 or anything of that nature. Also for Adobe products (again guessing, this time to be photoshop or video editing software) you definitely want at least 4 physical cores but its 1000% possible to get by with 2 cores and 4 threads. Just expect longer render times.

RuLeZ reacted to loculus in i7-7500U is good for programming and virtual machines?
What are you even doing with your virtual machines? Anything performance intensive? If it's just to test or compile or whatever related to programming, and you're not running multiple at a time for something mission critical, you probably don't need something that powerful and this would be acceptable.
Which Adobe products are you talking about, and again, anything intensive there?

I would stay with the X6 1090T, way better multithread performance, and probably similar single thread.

Stay the same, they are completly different products, maybe the R7 1800x and 1800 will drop a bit, but anyway the best option is the R7 1700.

RuLeZ reacted to loculus in Budget GPU - E5400
Yeah, HD 5670 or even HD 5570 etc. (also check similar HD 6xxx series parts) would be a lot better than that. It was a big step above the GT 220, which was the 48 CUDA cores part of that generation, which would be itself a lot better than the GF 210. Also check for the GT 440 / GT 530, which was somewhere around the performance of the HD 5670 and 5570.

RuLeZ reacted to DocSwag in 1440p - IPS - Freesync
In PCPP at least the cheapest 1440p ips g sync or freesync monitors are over 600 .
So I chose this guy instead, it's a 1440p IPS 60 hz monitor but Dell color calibrates it to a certain accuracy so colors are guaranteed to be good. It's also well within your budget.

Oh thanks, it looks interesting.
I am just not sure if I get a 25" or a 27", right now I am using a 21", so both would be way bigger

RuLeZ reacted to minibois in Does Ryzen work better with faster ram?
Yeah, there is a difference because of the architecture really relies on faster memory. You will get a better experience and not only in video editing and 3D modeling, but also in stuff like gaming.
I would seriously recommend 3000MHz over 2400MHz. The difference from going above 2800MHz-ish is not super big, but there usually is not a huge price gap: so I would say go for the faster memory.
I would also say: go for memory that is on the QVL of your motherboard, but I have heard of people who didn't go with that and still got the advertised speeds.

Can I get a source on that?
If it's been objectively proven then that must mean that it measures lower latency / whatever else.

RuLeZ reacted to Nicnac in Udemy
I have bought a course from them but not started it yet it really seems to depend on the course you choose. some seem to be pretty good, others not so much. make sure to choose one that is popular and has lots of reviews. I am gonna try out python over the holidays I am also from Hamburg btw :3

I have used Udemy for learning python and i think its great. But the quality varies a lot from course to course.
Just dont buy any courses when they are not on sale.

RuLeZ reacted to razaro in Udemy
Udemy courses can be nice, but as mention do check reviews first. I done a few and have some for future and it is good way to
get introduced to some subject. But it is just a start, you will get more from books but what I recommend is just code on your own,
from small simple projects to bit more complex.
Here are some links but you probably can find lot more:

RuLeZ reacted to Morgan MLGman in Ryzen 5 1600x or i5 7600k
You should get the Ryzen 5 1600 and OC it. It's just a better buy, it will last longer and allow you to do more than just game.
FYI: You don't need the Pure Rock, it's not much better in terms of cooling performance than what comes with the 1600, it will only be quieter so I'd just wait with the stock one and gather more money for a better cooler.

RuLeZ got a reaction from Ordinarily_Greater in Ryzen 5 1600x or i5 7600k
For pure Gaming a r5 is enough, but multitasking the r7 is better, personally I would buy a r7 1700 right now, if I would change my Xeon.
