  1. Hey everyone! Upgraded my GPU today and I'm having some issues. Went from an EVGA 1050 Ti to an Asus 2070 Super dual. At first, everything seemed fine. Installed the card, updated drivers, etc. Gamed for a bit, but eventually froze up to the point of needing reset. I did so, and I wasn't running at correct resolution anymore, which is 1440p. Nvidia control panel was gone and it seemes the driver had uninstalled. Tried another GeForce experience install and retsart, but got the same thing, but now with purple artifacting across the screen. Tried updating Windows. No fix. Tried uninstalling all drivers with DDU then reinstalling manually from Nvidia. No fix. Any ideas? I'm getting really frustrated and reallly don't wanna RMA if it's not necessary.
  2. That's true. I'll probably roll with the 980Ti. Thanks for all the help!
  3. What do you think would overall be better?
  4. The 200 or more thing is definitely just an "If I ever wanted to" kind of thing. My main game that'd I'd be playing the most would probably be around 50, if that.
  5. Wow, that helps a lot. So, knowing that I won't need that whopping 8 gigs of VRAM, would a GTX 980Ti be preferable to the 390X then? It obviously has better overall performance, and if I get one I'll be getting the Gigabyte G1 Windforce 980Ti and hopefully running it at no less than 1250 Mhz. I'll also have 16gb of RAM with a very soon upgrade to 32 gigs, and my CPU will be cooled and OC'd to hopefully 4 - 4.2 Ghz.
  6. I'll probably have an ENB with quite a few overhauls, lighting effects, texture resolutions, and then of course armor and weapon mods, houses, companions, quest mods... yeah, basically I'm going to push it quite a bit.
  7. So the performance of the 390X should be able to hold me at 60 fps running at 1440p?
  8. I don't really plan on getting a Fury X. The main cards I'm considering are either an R9 390X or a GTX 980Ti. Would the 980Ti be that much better with two less gb of VRAM to justify the extra $250?
  9. Thanks for the advice! When I mentioned that I'd probably end up getting the i5 6600K, is because it will probably be out by the time I have the funds for this complete build. So I'd never have a 4690K at all. Also, you noted that the 980Ti has extra VRAM, but the R9 390X has 8 gb vs the 980Ti's 6gb. Will the 390X be able to achieve what I want with the 8gb and it's performance overall? Should should I save the extra $250 and get the 980Ti?
  10. Hey everyone! I'm currently saving up my money for a new gaming PC, and I'm certain on all the parts I want except for my graphics card. The main thing I'll be doing on my PC is playing Skyrim with lots of mods, as well as other games like Shadow of Mordor, GTA V, etc. For a while I was set on a GTX 980Ti, but do I really need that much power? Or would an R9 390X serve me just as well? I would like to play at 1440p on a single monitor, and I wouldn't like my FPS to hit under 60. The processor I'll be using, for now, is an i5 4690K, however I'll probably end up getting i5 6600K when it comes out. So what do you guys think? Thanks!
