I currently use a steam link to access my desktop on my TV, but it's not a great solution (clunky, slow, buggy, 1080p). I am interested in the new Shield TV Pro, but I was wondering if I can use it for that purpose? Can I have it turn on my computer over LAN? Stream games and desktop with over a wired LAN connection? Can I connect things like my wireless keyboard and controllers and use them? Would a USB hub work? Would the VirtualHere software work (makes computer think things are locally plugged in)? Can I install apps on the shield TV that aren't officially on the app store (via APK)?

I'd like to clone my SATA SSD OS drive (a samsung 860 Evo) to an ADATA XPG SX8200 Pro NVMe SSD, and I was wondering how I can go about doing that? Both are are 1 tb, and my OS drive data is backed up.

So I am trying to pick a gpu for someone who chiefly wants it for one main purpose: Playing fortnite, at 1080p (med-high details), and to take advantage of a 240hz monitor. I also need to be able to get it from Amazon ASAP. What are my options?

Hello I am looking to build a cheap, power bill friendly system that will act as a server for me. I would like it to run a heavily modded minecraft server, a plex server, and remain on 24/7. A small(ish), quit(ish) case would be best, and I'd rather not have it hooked up to a monitor or anything after setup (and modifications). It also has to have a TPM (Trusted Platform Module), and run windows 10. Any suggestions? US location, budget is basically as low as possible while doing what I want it to do.

This white spot issue seems very concerning, how noticable is it?

Anyone have thoughts on the ASUS ZenBook 13 (UX333FA-AB77)? Seems to be a cheaper alternative to the XPS 13, with all the right features?

Budget is fluid, but I'd really prefer to not spend more money than I have to. I would prefer an ultrabook, but due to the higher costs I also want to consider the best budget options. So the best options that meet those criteria in both camps is what I'd really like to know.

So I just disconnected the 120 gb SSD I had just connected, and everything went back to being fine. Issue might be with SATA cable, or SSD, but just getting rid of both fixed it

Changed the ports the new SATA drives were connected to, and everything is now fine. I think. At least for now, until 5 min from now when it just decides it's dead...

Now I can't even boot in, I wait 30-40 seconds on the bios screen, then it just restarts, rinse and repeat.

Randomly came back even after the bios updated. Wth

ok so that problem just randomly disappeared. Not the long ass 45-60 sec bios / logo screen is back!

The password I set to protect access to the UEFI settings is now being prompted at every computer startup, not just when I hit Del to go into the bios. This is happening after I updated my bios to fix another issue (see last topic). Using a Gigabyte Z390M Gaming motherboard and couldn't find anything relevant in the settings

I updated the BIOS and all is good.

If it does, I definitely didn't change it.

So I just installed 16gb more RAM, and it's correctly in and running at the right speed. I also installed a NVMe drive and another SATA SSD, both working fine. Suddenly, it takes 60+ seconds to get past the initial screen with the Press Del for Bios, the Gigabyte Logo, etc. I have fast boot on, the same OS drive as #1 in the boot order, and CSM off... No clue what's causing this Edit: This is a gigabyte Z390M Gaming

I assume it's the Denuvo DRM ubisoft got on it, supposedly massively hits performance. Real shame too. Luckily I bought a Mobo with a beefy VRM in case I had to upgrade to a 9900k, which I might do if the prices drop enough after Ryzen 3. I actually got 16gb more RAM in the mail, so once it's all here I'll tackle the fickle world of memory overclocking and see if that helps. The CPU is pinned regardless of whether I am multitasking, but when it's just ACO running I get far less mouse stutter, so it does make a difference there I guess. Running on an SSD, with a 8gb pagefile. No issues with ram filling up or disk slowdowns from what I can tell. The lack of optimization always sucks, especially when you know the devs can squeeze noticeably better performance out of the game... But do keep in mind that 3440x1440 is about 140% more pixels, so my lower performance isn't all that unexpected.
