    Alright placing the ram in the 2nd and 4th slot seemed to keep the computer stable for him.

    No, it is a 64 bit and the card is only has 4 gb of vram.

    Yeah I read that ram could have been the problem but I didn't even imagine that being the problem since he just had his computer working before he installed his new gpu so I thought there was no way ram could have been the issue.
     
    Thanks I've just been a very long time lurker and only posted a few times when my friends had problems.

    Okay well he just took out his ram and inserted it back in and now it's working.
