Single Status Update
* internet issues, slow speeds, packet loss, etc ... *
Me : spend 2h diagnosing my network, changed the modem and then the router, tried different combinations, removed switches, switched equipment to different ports, etc ...
Me : goes to my ISP website to contact support, only to be greeted by an outage warning ...
*sigh* damn it, should've checked my ISP network status first!
About ~4 months ago there was a Spectrum(TWC) Internet outage along the US East Coast. I had no idea why our Internet died but it took me bringing their modem back to the store and this lady turning away dozens of people from entering the building for me to find out.
I thought the Internet was redundancy built on top of redundancy. Now I think the Internet is one janitor short of tripping over a power cable consequently knocking out the whole East Coast again.
