Someone in Brazil decided my email was theirs ... no, they don't have my password, and no, there's no login attempts to log into my email from Brazil. That didn't stop them to use my email to subscribe to Netflix, to give it to their Ford dealership and other business he deals with.

How dumb can you be to use an email that isn't yours??? WTF is wrong with people?

I did contact Netflix and they flagged the email as incorrect on his account, and I sent a few emails to the dealer, but since I don't know a word of Portuguese, I'm not sure how good Google translate was! :P

I decided to dig into my email (I never look in the promotion tab) and realized he used my email for his phone provider too! lol

Seeing as he's using my email to subscribe, I'm tempted to initiate password changes and take over all his accounts, just to teach him a lesson ... but that would SUCK for him, so, I'm being a good buy scout and I'm contacting those companies to have them change that! :P

wait ... I think that guy somehow had access to my account back in 2010!!!!

I just found a few Portuguese emails that were send from my mailbox!!!!

Of course, my email password was changed since, has now 2FA for the last 2-3 years and is linked to my phone, but still!

So if people can just take over your mailbox like that, how can we be sure that it's actually you on here?  ?

It's my main personal email that I use for banking and other stuff like this, my "social" email that I use for this forum and most of my online social life is another email.

I also found another email that I created 3 years ago that I totally forgot about! lol

If you have 2FA and they didn't have your email password, how did they have access to your email then?

@MEC-777 that's the thing, they somehow did have access somewhere back in 2010, but haven't since.

But they are still entering my email address when registering for services.

I'm really confused since they didn't even try to log into my email (I looked into my security logs on Google).

Not sure why they're using my email when registering for things when they haven't even tried to log into it for year?
