  1. New phones and plans (all in Canadian dollars, sorry no pics of the phones!) Me ; Google Pixel 7 ($216 = 9$/m for 24m) - 30GB for $35/m Wife ; iPhone 13 ($480 = 20/m for 24m) - 30GB for $30/m 2 Walmart gift cards totaling $600 Previous plans were garbage and we were happy to get those plans (we used to pay $25/m for 2.5GB, plans didn't include phones)
  2. Creality has some sales up here in Canada, I was looking that the Ender 3 for a while and now I'm wondering what would be best between the Ender 3 V2 or the Ender 5 Pro since they're almost the same price (3 v2 = $320, 5 Pro = $350) I'm not familiar with 3D printing, I don' need the bigger print size the 5 has, so I'm guessing the 3 V2 would be ok for my usage and I could use the $20 for a small spool of filament. Any opinions? BTW, even though I mentioned the prices, cost isn't really an issue, I was thinking of spending up to $400 and I've heard lots of good things on the 3 v2 for the price.
  3. YMMV = Your Mileage May Vary ... seems there are different prices in different provinces, so it's possible you will either pay more, less, or have less data for the same prices mentioned. For Black Friday, seems like some mobile service providers are trying to give out good deals. All of them are in person, you won't be able to get these through chat or phone support, they're available in person only. It seems like in BC the 20GB plan at Fido is $25 instead of $30. 4. @kingvortex20I moved your thread to the peripherals section, I think you'll have better visibility here than in the PC gaming section.
  5. The Network Cable Tester & Crimping Tools is on sale at PrimeCables, for $10 CAD with free shipping. I myself have this combo and it's working great for the price. https://www.primecables.ca/p-395358-cab-ss35407-gii-cab-ss35407-test2 BTW, for those wondering ; PrimeCables is a legit retailer, I've personally been ordering from them since 2011, they have a warehouse in Montreal and I've picked up a few orders from there (though since the pandemic they stopped warehouse pickups). My last order with them is from last week :
  6. Lenovo Smart Clock Essential with Alexa Built-in - Clay Red https://www.lenovo.com/ca/en/p/smart-devices/smart-home/smart-home-series/lenovo-smart-clock-essential-with-alexa-built-in/zaa30006us
  7. @Levent holy shit, yeah, UPS and Fedex are price gouging up here, I remember having to use Fedex to send documents overseas, and that was $75 CAD ... it was just a letter that was required for immigration purposes and I needed tracking and signature, the signature part wasn't available with Canada Post so I had to use Fedex (the cheapest option). Can't imagine paying $250 CAD in shipping ! Last time I used UPS was for a car part I imported from the US, I ended up paying more in shipping and import fees (taxes and brokerage) than the part itself. Since I live 40 minutes away from the US border, I started using a holding warehouse that's just on the other side of the border, it was SO much cheaper since a lot of place offer free shipping inside the US.
  8. There's https://www.forwardingme.com/, but keep in mind that Canadian shipping prices are ridiculously high. Shipping this overseas will probably cost above $50, and you'll probably have import fees to cover.
  9. * thread title corrected * Please make sure to follow the guidelines and at least have the country in the title.
  10. But then, on VERY rare occasions, stuff gets cheaper in Canada ... not sure why ;

  14. The usual sales price is around $375 USD (when converted from $500 CAD), current MSRP for the 6700xt is usually around $525 to $600 USD when converted ($700 to $800 CAD). BTW, it's not really that prices are inflated, it's that the prices in the US are abnormally low, look anywhere else on the planet (EU, Asia, Australia, etc...), it's always more than in the US, usually around 15% and up, for most GPUs in Canada, it's currently around 25% up to 50% more than US prices (there's even thing up here that are double the price after conversion).
  15. title corrected, @mr fobs make sure to identify the country and retailer in the title.

Wow ... so I'm really out of the loop since 6+ months ! This is news to me! lollll
  19. Looking to get a new GPU, changed my 1060 3GB with a 1070 (non ti) a while ago, and that scratched that itch, but I had been looking at 3060ti during the shortage and now that crypto crashed and GPUs are back to appropriate retail prices, I'm ready to pull the trigger.

Just not sure what to get ... except I know I won't get a 40 series!

Time to look at reviews for the recent AMD and Nvidia 30 series I guess (I was thinking 3070, but I'm not sure if AMD has something comparable since I haven't looked at all that for the past 6+ months!).

The 6700 xt for $480 was sold out almost immediately, switched to an Asus model for $520, anything else was either sold out also, or not on sale ($600+)

I hope the $520 was in CAD, not USD? 😛 You should be pretty happy with the performance bump, you're upgrading from a 1060 IIRC? The 3GB model?

CAD yes (so around $385 USD), I upgraded my 1060 3GB to a 1070 earlier this year for $135 CAD (so around $100 USD), while it was better, the 1070 was sold "as-is" and was in really bad shape (VERY dirty with a rust on some components and oxidation on the copper on the cooler), was able to fix it and make it work, but it's a bit unstable during hot summer days ! 😅

Though I'm not complaining since I bought it during the shortage when 1070 were sold for $300+ CAD !!

Next upgrade will be high refresh rate monitors 😉 (stuck at 75Hz)

  20. OP replied and doesn't like it, so please stop pointlessly arguing and move on.
  21. There's nothing to bypass, task scheduler doesn't allow uses of accounts with blank passwords, pretty sure that's what's happening here @Sheanfabs add a password to the account, it should work after.
