  1. thinking about getting a lg 34gk950f (just under 1.2k€) instead of continuing the endless waiting game for the pg35vq. any thoughts on that?

hey guess what, it just arrived and i'm about to send it back... after i already went through 4 rma's with my pg279q just to get a panel that isnt defect.
      here i go again yay...20190429_150939.thumb.jpg.854d250bcd5454e12584247ac3f4a3f6.jpg

seriously is nobody ever fucking checking for defects anymore, this is just unacceptable and the 5th time it has happened to me in less than a year

Oh that sucks man... Had to send back my old PG278Q once because it was missing the DP cable... But you seriously have bad luck

    audio sync issues

    welp nevermind, its back

    audio sync issues

@homeap5 @datboi8192 i went through everything i could think of and found the problem/solution. in the properties of the output devices, under advanced, the format was set to 2 channel 24 bit 48000hz instead of the default 16bit, changing that back to 16 bit got rid of the issue. the weird thing is that i never touched that, and i can't think of anything that would change those settings

    audio sync issues

did that yesterday, was fine for the rest of the day issue is back today though ._. so far every "fix" is only temporary until i reboot again
  5. hey there, i'm running a 3 week old install of windows 10 and have been experiencing some bad audio sync issues in videos, especially on youtube. the audio gets a few seconds ahead of the video after just a minute or two and has been quite annoying. happens in chrome, opera and edge i "fixed" this yesterday by removing every audio device in the device manager and rebooting, though it's back today. has anyone got a permanent fix for this or experienced something similar? note: i've changed cpu/mainboard/ram since installing win10, hasnt happened before. 9900k, maximus xi hero, 32gb ram, rest of the signature still up to date, dxdiag included just checking here first before i nuke it again and start over downloading everything(got slow internet so its a pain, i'd rather not) DxDiag.txt
  6. currently saving for a 9900k, my 4790k has become the main bottleneck in most games i play, also i really need a ram upgrade for work stuff and dont wanna invest into ddr3
  7. because thats a resolution of 7680x4320. 2160p is already demanding
  8. i'd imagine something like the i9-9960X would be a great choice, tho i have no idea on pricing for that
  9. why tho, what are your temps?
  10. you should also take a look at monitor calibration and how to do it yourself
  11. [My experience with Asus' warranty, since i heard only bad things about it so far]

My pg279q developed a small group of dead pixels after just 5 months of owning it,so i contacted asus directly via their rma form.

apart from my personal info they needed the monitors serial and date of purchase, aswell as 2 pictures of the defect (one close up and one a bit further away).

i did this last saturday and immidiatly got a response on monday, confirming the request and telling me how they'll move forward.
on tuesday i got another email saying they shipped my replacement and provided a tracking id.today i recieved a new retail package together with the return label for my old one.
for me this was handled the ideal way and i'm pretty satisfied with asus, that's how it should be done for such an expensive product.

now i'm just pissed off,the 2nd replacement they send has multiple dead/dimmer pixels and a few bright spots, and it's clearly been used before
didnt even bother to reset the settings. i wouldnt mind getting a previously owned one as long as its fine....
this is compeletely unacceptable for a product that cost me over 700€ and is supposed to be one of the best available.

Well then, I guess now we know what the complaints are about :P I think at this point you could ask for a refund...

    4. McHox

      McHox

      yeah
however i dont really want a refund, there isnt really anything better available anyways that has what i want

  12. is there any specific reason to keep that os? i'd just do a fresh install
  13. since the new gen announcement is literally next week i'd wait at least until then to make a decision.
