  1. I had a similar setup of the period and with a Ti4200. Worked pretty good back in the day actually
  2. In at least 95% of cases it's not an appropriate or acceptable solution. But to give you the benefit of the doubt that it may be the <5% of cases with exceptions let's hear this out - why exactly do you feel the need to use molex adapters? What GPU are you trying to use with what PSU?
  3. But it's not film cameras anymore, so software and processing plays a huge part too. 3 phones that use the exact same Sony sensor could have completely different image outcomes. I mean, when you're a manufacturer churning out phones from these Chinese/Vietnamese factories by the thousands, even decent screens still probably cost them less than that.
  4. In my opinion I think that Pixel should be the "best of stock Android" that Google had set out the Nexus line to be from the beginning, but that it shouldn't be priced as high as Apple or even Samsung's devices either because they simply don't have that "status". We had reached a solid point at the Nexus 5 mark where you could get a flagship spec device without all the bloatware/ugly skin and be sure of software support for a great price, the only problem was the crappy camera. Now Google has gotten that part of it figured out, but I don't see how that justifies the price becoming over twice as expensive.
  5. Oh, yeah, definitely nothing wrong with that. My old i5-2400 system that had a 5450 and then a 1050 non-Ti is still going perfect in the other room after 7 or 8 years now on the factory FSP 240W (HP SFF prebuilt), and the EVGA is definitely a lot better than that. The context of it being "bad" for a build is more like, you CAN run a Ryzen 9 and a 2080 off of it as total system power draw will still only sit around 360-400W under load, but that doesn't mean you should. While a high-end 500W, even though is rated for the same power, will reliably handle it all day long.
  6. It's a bit of a bottleneck but you should still be getting better performance than that. My previous PC had an A8-7600 as well and a 1050 (non-Ti), I was still able to get FPS in the high 40s to low 50s even in the city with action going on at 1080p high. The biggest limiting factor in games I actually ran into frequently was the 2GB of VRAM.
  7. Well it really depends on context and what you're running with it. It's considered "not good" from the perspective of things you should be buying or have the choice to. In the bigger picture, there's far worse PSUs out there that have been working perfectly fine for over a decade or more and still going, but they don't really have to power much.
  8. The issue with adapters is pretty blown out of proportion and also stemmed from the days when cards drew a lot more power than they do now. It's a 125W card, you will be perfectly fine running it with just a 6-pin and they could have easily shipped it with one but enthusiasts simply prefer to see an 8-pin for perhaps extra overclocking headroom or just the placebo of more power. Take a look in comparison to something like a 8800GTS, which is a 143W card, and still has no problems running on a single 6-pin. The negative stigma however came from when back in the day people tried to run cards like that on sketchy PSUs using molex to 6-pin adapters...
  9. Yes it will be. The S12II 620 is capable and well-built enough to handle pretty much any single-GPU setup. I have the S12II 500W with a Ryzen 3600 and a RX480, which will be at most only a 20-30W difference in power draw compared to your system, and performs perfectly.
  10. Woah my god that link But no, it is a 500W. Whenever a piece of electronic equipment lists a capability as "peak", it means "ignore this number". Like when a tiny amplifier for $100 claims to be able to do "2000 watts peak" yeah no.
  11. A good quality 650 has been more than enough to run any single-GPU setup for a while now, and as total system power draw for an average gaming PC continues to drop with less power-hungry components for what's considered good performance, it will likely remain this way for a long time.
  12. A once forgotten fad is coming back but to PCs haha
  13. There are the "bypasses" from Windows 8 which supposedly still work with 10. But why would you want to do so?
  14. All RAM will run at the speed of the slowest stick.
  15. Yep. Well, it's the Protege here in North America, but Familia in most other places of the world.
  16. The pump is currently connected to the chassis fan1 header. Tried it at 12V (100%), 9.6V (80%), even 6V (50%) and it will still do the squealing on startup. Actually seems to go away quicker when set to a higher speed so it's currently at 100%.
  17. Yes, it will. However if you get a board with an older BIOS it may not recognize the CPU out of the box, in that case you'll have to use the BIOS Flashback feature to flash the latest using a USB stick.
  18. With the money you have, get an actual 3rd gen Ryzen 3 chip. The 3200G APU is actually still a Zen+ chip, basically a 2300X with an iGPU. Save up a little more before upgrading and you could get yourself a 3100/3300X as well as a dedicated GPU which will way outperform a 3200G.
  19. Hey guys, So my other PC is using a CM MasterLiquid Lite 120, and whenever it is powered up after sitting for more than a little bit the pump makes this squealing/chirping sound for about 2-5 seconds before going away. Almost like tires chirping on asphalt. It's actually done this for over a year now and is still working just fine, was just wondering if that's actually "supposed" to happen. Thanks!
  20. I have UpHere fans in my other case and they actually work surprisingly well.
  21. I have the 14 inch version and very happy with it. No dedicated GPU, but it does have 8GB of RAM. Been going strong for a few years now and never had any issues.
