Now that there is AI that you can tell what to do why should you have devs..? Just tell the AI to create a video game and it will code it? You guys have no idea what's coming but keep spamming Discord with AI art thinking it's funny. You're all going to be unemployed and no there will not be free money for the unemployed either. The future is a disgusting place and yet all of you are obsessed with being "modern". Good luck to you.

JoseGuya reacted to Holmes108 in New EU Law Could Force Apple to Allow Other App Stores, Sideloading, and iMessage Interoperability
I'm not a fan of Apple, and went with Android in the early days specifically because of this type of stuff (sideloading, etc), but I also don't agree with all this regulation, and in general believe that people should be able to run their business how they see fit (with some obvious exceptions relating to safety, essential goods, etc).

As much as I'd like to occasionally see arrogant Apple fall on their face, in this case I'd almost like to see them leave Europe (will never happen), and let the angry customers take it out on their politicians.

I know I'll be in the minority on here, but I just don't tend to be on the side of regulations for the most part.

this puts my opinion in an awkward position, cause I cant decide who I hate more, politicians or big business, but imo everyone should have the right to free speech, but that does not mean they have the right to no consequences, at the same time holding google accountable is like holding gun manufacturers accountable every time someone gets shot or sues a car company when someone gets killed speeding, its stupid and makes 0 sense.

It has been shown over and over again that this claim is utter horseshit. The technical reasons behind the 6S throttling are well known. Stop spreading false information.

With the recent iOS generations quite the opposite is true: They make older phones snappier. In addition to the 5-7years full-generational upgrade and update support, this is another standout from Apple simply unmatched in the Android world.

5 years ago: ARM CPUs are never going to be a thing ever in desktops! Apple would be stupid and it would be their death sentence (and keep in mind this was the time when Intel had 8-10% improvement in perf each gen).

2 years ago before embargo: M1 presentation claims are wild and non-believable. They're just stuffing iPad chips on Macs. And that is definitely bad case since graphs weren't labelled
0.5 years ago: M1 Pro and Max: Basically the same complains about graphs and deflecting the conversation completely away from their impressive chips to the notch

On the phones side of things, its been well known how A series have been way ahead of the competition for many many years, but then the haters change positions and keep saying "Why wOULd aNyOne NeED ThAT kInD of PeRFoRMance?" - Well, shithead - a lot of onboard ML, AI, image processing, video processing require more and more performance and generally, as a tech enthusiast, you should not ever be complaining about hardwares becoming more powerful and efficient.

And we have now. I'm not saying M1 Ultra is going to be the best shit to exist. It may not be, and we need to get it on independent reviewers before we come to that conclusion but given their extensive track record till now, it will be close to the top and irritates me how Apple doesn't get enough recognition from "tech nerds" group who can actually admire the engineering marvel they did because "brrr APple evil". But would happily pounce on them for literally the smallest thing (I remember seeing people on this forum discrediting Apple's donation for hurricane relief as marketing move and something with ulterior motive)

Yeah, THEIR platform, THEIR rules. If you don't like it, buy a freakingAndroid phone. How is this concept so god damn difficult to understand? I went the other direction because of crap I didn't like with Android. I could jerk around with 300 billion shitty ROM's and be my own master of the phone and whatnot. But I can't be bothered with this crap so I knowingly went with iPhone well knowing it has certain limitations or rules. And I've accepted them and they don't bother me that much. I can't understand people who knowingly go the same route and then they kick and scream about it. LOL MUCH?

JoseGuya reacted to Avocado Diaboli in The U.S. is considering whether to adopt a digital version of its currency
I'm sure behind that facetiousness you can come up with a myriad of creative ways on how a government can abuse stuff like that. If they control your funds, they control how you get to spend it. So lets say a conservative government has power. They don't have to criminalize something like abortions. They can just mandate that no payments can be made to anyone offering abortions. Or if a liberal government has power, they can mandate that you can now no longer purchase any firearms. They don't have to make something legal or illegal. They can just tell you you can't buy it.

JoseGuya reacted to Avocado Diaboli in The U.S. is considering whether to adopt a digital version of its currency
That's the point. I would be extremely wary if this passes and would keep a lookout for policy makers who argue that, since now you have a digital currency system backed by the government, you can abolish cash altogether. Cash is still the only viable means of truly anonymous transfer of funds with no third party keeping a record and therefore needs to be maintained as such. As soon as you hear people ask for a value transfer system that only goes through a government, you can consider yourself on the road to complete government surveillance.

    Summary
Apple today filed a lawsuit against NSO Group and its parent company to hold it accountable for the surveillance and targeting of Apple users. The complaint provides new information on how NSO Group infected victims’ devices with its Pegasus spyware. To prevent further abuse and harm to its users, Apple is also seeking a permanent injunction to ban NSO Group from using any Apple software, services, or devices.

    My thoughts
I think Apple is one of the only entities right now with the money and power to combat state sponsored attacks and mass surveillance. And I'm really happy considering my own country's government is about to purchase Pegasus and we don't have any laws regarding data protection. After the CSAM fiasco I really lost all hope on Apple and its privacy stand, but this could improve their image on that front again
