I purchased an HP Laptop for college 2 years ago which I barely used and now that I am out of school I use the laptop even less. Last night I turned the laptop on left it on over night, only to wake up to a BSOD. Restarting the laptop resulted in no detection of the HDD, bios doesn't find it, pull the drive and plug it into my troubleshooting desktop and it doesn't even try to start.
Try to have Samsung (the name on the drive) take care of the replacement (under warranty) and I got directed to Seagate as the servicer.
2 weeks ago my Seagate 3TB HDD crashed taking the backup of my media files with it. Having the drive in any PC caused random crashed/BSOD/Slow downs.
All that being said this is the 8th Seagate drive I've had to replace in 2 years, is this what everyone else is dealing with that use these brand drives? Am I alone in getting drives that fall apart with no warning taking everything with it?
