  1. Oh i see, unfortunately it seems it didn't work in my case.
  2. I believe i did everything but once it started downloading it erased the file i copied into the mgs_tpp folder, its all gone now, maybe i did a mistake, thanks anyways.
  3. No i dont believe i paused anything.
  4. So yesterday i started downloading this game and finished downloading it to about 90 percent before i had to leave and shutdown the computer. I returned today to finish the download and it has started all over again from zero on steam. When i go to "this pc" the disc space allocated is still marked as gone, making me think that the files i downloaded yesterday should still be there? What in the world is going on and what can i do?
  5. At least two weeks ago, have been having these specific problems for about 2 days.
  6. Just happened to me again when using youtube on chrome (same thing that happened earlier today). Nothing happened when playing GTA 5 for hours. Went to task manager and it was the Disk (C:) that was at 99%. First the internet stopped working, then the windows menu didn't open, then everything stopped working (except for cursor) then i had to right click the windows icon and select shutdown, and now it's stuck on the shutdown screen. Dear o dear.
  7. For the past few days, my computer has had a few hiccups and im wondering what it's all about. Specs: Windows 10, i5-4590, GTX 970, 8GB RAM.. I first noticed two days ago that my computer jammed after i used alt+tab to switch from a video game to the desktop. The video game stopped responding (apparently it's a common thing when alt+tabbing video games) and shortly after so did my computer. I could not open the windows start menu in order to restart/shutdown so i had to hold my PC's power button. Later on that day, this happened again i believe, and it happened after chrome stopped responding due to a shockwave crash. And now, just today, when using Chrome again, first the internet stopped working, and then the computer froze again, only able to move the spinning blue wheel that shows up when something is loading, with the mouse. My memory is a bit spotty right now, i think it also happened one other time, the point being... What can i do to check what might have gone wrong? What could have gone wrong? Also, bonus question: A few days i already asked about this but now i ask again. I ran disc cleanup and erased some temporary files, etc, but the computers hard drive space when i go to "this pc" drops very abnormally, i might download a 100 megabyte update and it immediately shows 1 gb gone, the space it reads is dropping unrealistically and i still dont know why. When i tried to install a new game through steam, it told me i had about 20 more GB space available than what "this pc" reads, which sounds about right. Any ideas?
  8. When i go to "this pc" and look at "local disc (c:)" recently i've noticed that the GB free section fluctuates in seemingly irrational ways. Yesterday i had 716 gb's free, and then a few lightweight updates later, it was down to 712 gb, now its at 704 gbs and i have no idea how all that space has been used up... What's going on here? How do i fix this? Another question i have...when you update drivers for example, does that space that the update requires stay gobbled up or...? where does it go?
  9. Deleted App Center, higher temperatures and excruciatingly slow loading times remain. Went to task manager>start up, and the only things that are high under start up impact are avast and one drive, i doubt these are the reasons tbh.
  10. Can i uninstall all of these GIGABYTE programs or do they have any real use? I downloaded the latest app center through here too http://www.gigabyte.us/support-downloads/Utility.aspx
  11. Just installed it, my computer is loading up considerably slower and MSI afterburner is also reading higher temperatures (i haven't checked other values). I'm also getting some driver error messages which i assume are coming from my GIGABYTE motherboard, telling me (in ridiculously bad grammar) that drivers have failed. I tried to update with "App Center" but the live update feature is not working, i'm not even sure if i need these apps in my computer... What can i do to clean these problems up? It was also failing to read my GPU but i fixed it after a restart and driver update through Geforce Experience. Higher temperatures, very slow booting times, driver errors, any thoughts?
  12. Hi, i was using google chrome today on my 1 month old build and as soon as i closed it, this message popped out...unexpectedly. I got one blue screen a month ago (can't remember what it's reasoning was) but it's never happened again (the person who i asked at that time suggested it could have been the newly installed anti-virus program). I was wondering what quick ideas or suggestions you could give me to make sure that everything is running smooth. I'd also like to mention that Google Chrome has been a problem for me. There's not a time that i use google chrome and the Nvidia graphics driver doesnt crash, and then something about a kernel not responding appears on the taskbar. Sometimes it wipes my audio and i have to either restart or tweak something in "sound" or my graphics card fans stop working and i have to go and restart afterburner for it to work again. Could Google Chrome be behind this latest blue screen of death? I've asked someone before and they told me that it's become a popular thing to hear that chrome has a problems with NVIDIA drivers, or something like that. My memory is foggier than usual atm.
  13. - How do i check which version of the game i have? I got this game on Wednesday i think, the 7 disc version to avoid download times, i assume it automatically gave me the latest? - The game wasn't already in the NVIDIA control panel like my steam games usually are, i had to add it manually, this should show no problems right? - Can i add this game to steam? If so, how? Will it appear as if i have the game or as something else? - Also, when i googled about the recent frame rate drops, i read some people using the terms "cpu bottlenecking" and also suggesting to change the hard drive. How do hard drives influence games? As a novice i had never heard about the hard drives playing a role, they're never even in the system requirements pages other than space requirement. - Does Geforce experience always optimize things well? Having an i5 4590, GTX 970, and 8GB of ram, i assume this would be good enough for some good performance? When i play the CPU usage sometimes goes to 100 but drops, it fluctuates, and memory usage doesnt go above 6000 or so mb's.

    Gta v -

I'll mention my question in this thread just to see if i get any additional opinions.. i5 4590 GTX 970 8GB Ram I still get frame rate drops despite lowering all settings to high, and setting the vram (thats the term right?) around the 2400's out of 4096 or so. Also, the game doesn't appear in the Nvidia control panel (i bought the 7 disc version not through steam), might that be the reason?
  15. I have a GTX 970 I5 4590 8GB RAM 1TB Western Digital Hard Drive I optimized GTA on Geforce Experience but changed the resolution to my TV's native. Having done this, i assumed that the game would run just fine, but the frame rate drops constantly. It varied in severity, and i don't know if there are specific actions that tick it off, but it just doesn't manage to stay at 60 FPS. I was wondering what sort of solutions are there for this. I mentioned my hard drive because i made a quick google search and noticed some people saying that the game could be running badly because of the Hard Drive. I also noticed that when i use the "self radio" feature i also get framerate drops, this seems to be a problem many are having, although now im not so sure it's because of the radio that i've had the frame rate drops. Any advice? I would think my CPU and GPU can handle 60 fps, but sometimes it goes from 60 to 54 to 61 to 48 to 58 to 60, etc.
  16. Alright, thanks for the quick help, appreciate it.
  17. This "Homegroup" icon suddenly popped up in my desktop, i'm wondering what i have to do to take it off permanently. Thanks.
  18. Recently i started searching videos on how to become a better CS:GO player and came across a video that mentioned mouse sensitivity. Being a novice with PC gaming, i'm not informed on the subject at all. I've seen alot of videos and articles about mouse sensitivity, and yet remain with more questions than answers because of the trend that this information has, to deliver instructions as if i'm already immersed and have a grip of the technicalities that they are simply throwing out there. I use a decade old Sony Vaio mouse, and a mouse pad from rite aid. So having said this, my questions are.. -How do i find the so called DPI? I went into control panel>mouse>mouse properties (my pointer speed is 6/11, and i turned off enhance pointer precision) i also turned mouse acceleration off in the games i play. All this because apparently it is recommended to do this (as well as turning raw input on where possible) in order to find a better sensitivity? - If i find my perfect sensitivity/setup, would this work in all games and not just CS:GO? - What's the whole process? Thanks.
  19. Well, i hope that it keeps running well when i play the more demanding games. Thanks for the input. Also, a CPU question, what's the top temperature range i can play in during hours without damaging the CPU?
  20. i5 4590 Cooler Master Elite 130 I'm wondering what are my options to help cool down my CPU temperatures. Since my case is rather small, i don't have the same cooling options that others do. At the desktop, the CPU temperatures usually stay in the low 40's, and I've so far played 4 games... L4D2: Mid 40's TF2: Low 50's Bioshock Infinite: Low 50's CSGO: Low 60's (All at max settings with vsync limiting FPS down to 60) I'd like to hear some more opinions on how those temperatures look like to some of you. Watching this video I see there are options such as water cooling? How would this work? And by how much would the CPU temperatures improve? Would the rest of the components suffer or improve as well by taking out the stock fans as they do in the video?
  21. Recently i finished my first gaming build. As a computer novice, i have several questions and a lot of them revolve around CPU and GPU temperatures. My wish is to run as fast and smoothly as possible so as to stop having to open and work on my computer as much as i have recently and finally relax. My specs: I5-4590 EVGA GTX 970 SSC ACX 2.0+ 8 GB RAM Cooler Master Elite 130 When at the desktop (what i think is termed as idle) both the CPU and GPU hang around the 40 degree celsius mark, with little 1 second spikes from the CPU whenever i open something (which i assume is normal). When i've played the following games, the numbers have been (for CPU and GPU respectively... Left 4 Dead 2: 50ish and 60ish i think TF2: About the same CS GO: 55-60 and 70ish if i remember correctly Bioshock Infinite: 60ish (topping at 70) and 80 (All these games played at the highest values as optimized by Geforce Experience) I want to be able to play without constantly worrying so my questions revolve around.. - What do you think of these numbers? - Can adjusting fan speed to GPU temperature values help? If so, how do i do that with MSI Afterburner? - Considering it's a small case, what alternative CPU fan could i use that could fit in my case and provide a superior cooling to the stock Intel fan? - The case has 2 fans and it's size makes provides little elbow room, what's the best we can do to optimize the temperatures? I want to be able to get GTA 5, MGS 5, Fallout 4, Star Wars Battlefront, and play them all in peace when the time comes. Thanks for your help In addition, i've recently stumbled upon a kernel driver NVidia error, seems to be a popular thing, would anyone know what to do by any chance? Has happened about 3 times to me today (first times) only when using chrome.
