  1. Wait, were you talking about the type C connectors? I'm confused because you mentioned and I thought you were talking about the header but reading your reply I'm convinced you were talking about the type c connector itself...
  2. I would at least appreciate an explicit documentation for the header when in use for USB 3.2 type C and yet, I can't find it. If it is(and I do believe it has to be) really a part of the USB standard, why is it not technically described in any of USB-IF's docs? Also, just a separate question: Do you think this header form factor will also stand for USB4(thunderbolt 3)?
  3. I've only noticed this recently while searching for my personal project: The motherboard header interface for USB type C front panel does not seem to have a standard defining its name and wiring, somehow? USB 3.0(type A) front panel header seems to have a standard per this document that Intel provides. USB type C header, on the other hand, seems to be: animously refered to as USB type E or key A does not have any technical descriptions, even from USB-IF and even has user claims that implies the wirings for these interfaces are not standardized across hardware(mobo) vendors. It makes no sense for this header to not be unified and standardized; yet I can't find a clear documentation as to its specification. Can someone point me to where I might find it?
  4. I posted my own question on reddit and I got a viable answer. My stutter started after I installed destiny 2 on steam, which was not yet released. Turns out steam was checking if it was October 1st yet and caused the stutters. Is this the case for you as well?
  5. I don't intend to be particularly rude, but it pretty much sounds like collective idiocy. I feel this because I once had a time where I was surrounded by idiots in my middle school. There are two things that I want you to know: - Don't listen to anything that they say against technology or you, - and do whatever you can to keep on exploring and learning. Your school grade does not matter, what matters is your passion. let your parents know that. And please do ask your dad to stop beating you up. Does he somehow feel he needs to 'win' against your neighbor? With his son's scores? And seriously, 'eye cancer'? what the f--k? Tell everyone that you are learning with experience and passion, unlike your neighbor's son just learning useless stuff off the textbook and memorizing it. Maybe they need to watch '3 idiots' again. Just in case, I'm gonna state that I am not condoning abandoning school studies at all. You do need to study and get some grades. But I'm telling you that your passion and interest is more significant, and competition with grades is just... futile? I dunno. Keep loving technology.
  6. Interestingly, I'm having the exact same issue... Might be a windows issue? Since when did this problem start?
  7. Do reseat your RAM if you haven't tried already. I've had the issue of my screen not getting signal even when the fans turn and all, which turned out to be a RAM seating issue. Pull it out and insert it in again.
  8. I play cities:skylines and TF2, along with PUBG as well. When I first encountered this issue in TF2 just about 3 days ago, I thought that rebooting my computer would fix the issue, but it didn't. And the problem spread to Cities:Skylines as well. So what happens is my computer would randomly 'stutter', for like one second, just briefly. In TF2 the screen would halt and whatever sound that was coming out would be cut and repeated, like "The Contr-tr-tr-trol Point is being captured" And in cities:skylines, the screen would just freeze up for a second, I'm not sure about how the sound behaves in that one. I don't get this issue(or at least seems to not) when I'm just doing light tasks on the desktop, only when gaming. I think this is a computer issue than the individual game, since the symptoms are identical. The only thing I did 3 days ago was to install Destiny 2 in Steam, I wonder if that could be the cause? I did nothing else I could think of except that. What might I have to look into? -i7-6700k@stock -RTX 2060 -Asrock Z170m-itx/ac -24GB Samsung DDR4@3200MHz -Windows 10 Pro Build 18362(1903) UPDATE: Turns out the destiny 2 that I installed on steam, steam was checking to see if it was the release date for the game( the game was available for download before it was launched) and that caused the stutters.
  9. What do you mean by 'standby light'? does it come on when the computer's plugged in, or only after powering it up? Does the fan turn and all?
  10. Are you positive that most games are stuck at exactly maximum 99 fps, or are you just saying? What monitor do you have, and what is its refresh rate? Do you have VSync on?
  11. Collect data such as thermals and actual fps. Maybe your computer is thermal throttling. Or it could be that you're using the wrong settings. Cite the games that you're having trouble running, and how much performance actually seem to have degraded. Your computer specs are only half of the data people need to troubleshoot.
  12. I bought this sata to msata converter, and I happily plugged a sata 7-pin data cable to the converter then plugged the converter into my mainboard. I was aware that this converter was only gonna support data transfer, so ofc I got the sata drive's 15pin connected to my PSU. Then I boot up to my bios and go into storage devices and... <mSATA1: NOT DETECTED>. I saw the 3.3V and GND pin that looked like I needed to connect so I try going at it with aluminum foil. Still no luck. Should I try soldering this for real or is there anything else I should try? I will try contacting the company that imported(and hopefully designed) this thing, but I fear for the most unwanted answer that they could say: "we don't know". So want to get some help from the gurus out there. Help!
  13. I usually play GTAV and source engine games like l4d2, tf2. I would have liked to rage specifically on the source engine, but I can't since Rockstar also gave me shit at times. So I need to [alt + tab] a lot, because I tend to switch to YouTube and stuff while I'm in a queue for a round or the game's loading or something. I'll also have to mention that I use a 4K monitor, and since I'm not rocking a supercomputer, I usually scale down my games to FHD or QHD. In these circumstances, the games have a f**ing stroke. When I click on the games on the taskbar or [alt + tab], my monitor changes its resolution(I can see that before the game comes up) and the game appears, but then the game flickers and I get kicked back to my desktop. Then the monitor spasms again to change the res back to 4K. I have to keep doing that until the game lets me in. This didn't happen when I was using my FHD monitors at native res. How can I fix this? PS. the source engine is so outdated that they can't run in windowed fullscreen mode, where games are fullscreen but are more togglable and can upscale in resolution. When in windowed mode, it becomes a B**ch and runs in exactly that amount of pixels(FHD? 1/4 of my monitor.). Gaben...smh
