Also, the K70 has a wrist rest, but you can buy one, but the k70's is attached which is nice. But if money if tight, or you want to spend wisely, just go for the cm, both are solid keyboards.

No, it's not. The only reason you might choose the K70, logically, is any of the following:

You want dedicated media keys. | I don't think the CM has any macroable keys.

You want the metal base for aesthetics and feel. | The metal base will not add to the lifespan of the keyboard unless you're a hardcore rager.

You want Corsair software. | I have no idea what CM uses.

Specific wants of the red LED or keyboard colorway or lighting effects from either keyboard.

    *****

I might have left out a few more key points, but that's just an example of why you would choose the K70. As far as experience goes, there won't be much of a difference between the two when typing or gaming. Both use the same type cherry MX switches and are relatively the same height. So on a blind test, they may even feel similar if the keycaps are the same manufacturer.

All in all, I would definitely recommend going for the CM if the price difference is that big. No doubt.

Modern ssds will likely last longer than you need them to. Don't worry about writing to it as a problem unless you're writing several hundred gigs a day. http://us.hardware.info/reviews/4178/10/hardwareinfo-tests-lifespan-of-samsung-ssd-840-250gb-tlc-ssd-updated-with-final-conclusion-final-update-20-6-2013

anyone who agrees with this is right.

    to address the name issue:

everytime you see javascript, just read 'ECMAscript' instead.

javascript is just a marketing name because java was VERY popular when js was released and wanted to be taken seriously.

They're completely different programming languages, and as far as programming languages go, they're very, very different.

Java is a compiled strongly typed object-oriented programming language that runs inside the JVM (Java Virtual Machine). It is primarily used in enterprise development and, more recently, for Android development.

JavaScript is a dynamic late binding scripting language. It is primarily used for client side web programming - i.e. in the web browser. In fact, JavaScript is now an essential part of the latest web programming standard HTML 5, along with CSS and HTML. You cannot have HTML 5 without JavaScript. Its use is spreading to more and more places, and it can now be used for mobile programming (e.g. PhoneGap) and server-side programming (e.g. node.js).

do you look at yourself all day?  why do you even bother putting clothes on before heading out to the theatre?  no one can see you when they're watching the movie anyways.  (DISCLAIMER: i'm not encouraging sitting buttnaked on a movie seat)

my thumb TOUCHES the spacebar.  this is pretty much the only spacebar where there is pad printed text and i can feel it the entire time i use my board.

is it the end of the world?  of course not.  but it IS something they took effort to put on there that made it worse

I'm sorry that you failed to see the clear answers given to you in both of your examples. Not everyone is going to be able to help you always and not everyone is willing to give a whole bunch of time to give a step by step methodical answer. I think your being too picky. If you dont like our answers, then dont come back. Try to find some place else that is as good a community as us and that respond as fast as we do. If you do leave, dont come back. tbc reacted to mr moose in Windows 8.1 update for making it more mice and keybourd friendly
Probably because contrary to popular belief win8 is selling quite well and has a reasonable uptake even though there is a vocal enthusiast crowd who hate the original iteration.  If I was MS I would be a bit reluctant to change it earlier on than this on grounds the sales figures were at odds with public perception.

It is also interesting to note that this year the uptake on win 7 has finally started to decrease, which means there is more chance win8 will be the os people move to from XP. Maybe this update was timed to capitalise on that?

not sure what adam is talking about.

there are individual aluminum novelty keycaps sold regularly and in stock.

but for a fullset?  the only really popular one was 'scarface' and that has been a collector's item for a year or few already.  alu sets are pretty sought after on geekhack and i'm pretty sure someone would have posted about a public source.

backlit?  never heard of one and don't think it will ever happen.

ZINC alphasets exists (~37 keys), but I don't think mods for them do or they're not very common at least.

so, if you want an aluminum set, you should try to FIND someone with the scarface set and then be prepared to fork over 100s of dollars.

    EDIT:

truthfully, I don't even remember scarface having mods.  but don't quote me on that.

I don't typically mention pricing in videos PARTICULARLY for products like HDDs, flash memroy, or other commodity products because it changes so fast and I never know when someone is going to be watching my video.

The video is not really targeted towards average consumers because the product itself is not targeted towards average consumers (another thing I mention in the video). This is an enthusiast grade part. The TLC flash in an 840 Evo has an abysmal number of P/E cycles compared to the enterprise grade MLC-HET flash being used in this one.

For average consumers that will never matter and the 840 Evo is a great product. It's just not "enthusiast grade" and Samsung never marketed it as such. that's why the 840 Pro still exists with MLC flash instead of TLC.

I had 64bit Vista in my main rig before moving on to 64bit Win7 followed by 64bit Win8.1, yes, there were issues with driver incompatibility initially but it got better as time went by. With the Service packs, it got to the point where I'd say it was a very good OS, and no, after the first service pack, there were hardly any major issue to speak of,,,,

tbc got a reaction from antoainb in Is it possible to turn a usb 3.0 port in to a 2.0?
I don't see how this is possible at all.  the chip itself is very aware that it is a usb3 controller.

unless there's a setting already built-in, you would have to do something like rewrite the firmware and only make use of USB2 features.  hypothetically.

    ^ ergonomics

there's no benefit to sticking your mouse hand further to the right and there's quite a lot of shoulder strain issues involved when you're doing at all day long as an office worker.

and yes, some people actually ARE that tight on space lol.  it's MUCH easier fitting a smaller board inside a bag than a fullsize board.  how about on keyboard trays?  there aren't very many desks where you can fit a fullsize board AND have alot of room for your mouse.

you can get quite a bit more compact than a TKL also.

basically, having a fullsize board when you never use the numpad is ALL LOSE and no gain.
