  1. I've used the xb270HU and cannot imagine playing fps games like tf2 and csgo without ULMB, so I think the 270HU is still the best bet for A) with without VERY high end hardware (I have a gtx 780, so nothin over a 970), AND B) people who play mostly twitch shooters. this monitor would do great with a dual high end gpu setup that could keep modern AAA titles running above 120hz on nice settings. Other than that, you'd rather have ulmb rather than a refresh rate above 120 for most fps's.
  2. "Now available at a more affordable price" $199 hhhhHHAHHHhhh Never interested in them anyways, but if this is their idea of competitive pricing, <_<
  3. I am saying 'gameplay footage' to fulfill the concept. I could be capturing a tutorial, a photoshop session or even my boot up screen/ BIOS if this worked. Pretend you had a spare laptop lying around. It has a decent size HDD, and you want to set it up to capture gameplay footage for you from your Desktop. IDEALLY, if you were using an HDMI for your center monitor on your desktop, perhaps you would buy an HDMI splitter, where you could send one feed to your monitor and the other.......... perhaps an HDMI to usb? have the laptop recognize it as a webcam signal and set it up for recording (using any software that could record a webcam)? But if that was so easy, nobody would buy capture cards and just send an hdmi signal straight back to their computers (would still cause lag, but would be cheaper). The thing is though, that I've heard the term "capture PC" thrown around. whether this means a beefy computer that they use specifically for game capture, or a designated PC to receive gameplay footage and record it, I don't know. Just looking for insight, thanks
  4. I think this poll isn't quite true to the question. When reading this, I would pick the option that was synonymous with "I don't really care about the sound level, it just can't be distracting", not so much a level of sound that I prefer, obviously I'd want it to be completely silent. Interesting poll though.
  5. Hello, I'm wondering if any of you know a quick way to fix the problem I have, I'm only halfway done my troubleshooting and haven't gone to any extremes yet. Hopefully you guys know an easy fix. The problem: My computer was running with 3 partitions, the first was windows 7 (can't boot to this), the second was a Dell windows 7 backup partition (can't boot to this either, sadly), and the third WAS Kali linux. I wanted to put Kali on a bootable USB instead of have it as a partition (like I did with BT5), I stupidly deleted the Kali partition while forgetting that GRUB2 handled my boot files, and that it was ON that partition. Now I'm stuck in grub rescue cycle. The netbook: - 32 bit only - NO CD drive I've downloaded a couple different windows 7 boot repair ISO's and mounted them with DAEMON, transferring the files to a USB and booting from the usb with no success. This was the final resort on most forums that tell you how to get out of the grub rescue cycle. I've tried all of the commands and stuff to get out of it, sadly, because Kali is completely gone from my computer, and so is a good portion of GRUB, none of these work. My next steps will be to attempt to boot from kali on a usb and fix GRUB2, then booting into windows and removing GRUB/replacing the files with the windows 7 files, but does anyone know I better way? If that doesn't work, I will wipe the HDD clean and completely redo everyhting from scratch, but there HAS to be a better way. Thanks for the help everyone.
  6. I personally think this is something that consumers will need to learn rather than companies needing to be regulated. This type of 'scamming' (which arguably, in a way, it is) exists outside of video games, but it also exists inside as well, just look at E.T., unfinished game being released for full price. If you are buying into early access, you are taking a investment and a risk. If you get screwed over, don't buy into early access anymore. I don't need my money to be protected on a $5 - $60 investment. If I buy in to a concept that doesn't deliver the promise, it's my loss, and you can be damn sure I won't be making that mistake again. Ever since Battlefield 3, I've never bought a game on release, and I never buy a game that I'm not 100% confident I will get my money's worth. DayZ was one of those, I knew that at the $30 price point, I would get my money's worth, and I did.
  7. slurp slurp. Anything is an improvement over my Keybo ;P I like that it's a smartphone. haha.
  8. That ending was horrifying. New guys name is Shifty, as far as I'm concerned. Aside from that, good job
  9. No Fraps, no xfire, no additional load on my PC. I take an HDMI splitter out the back of my GPU, one goes to my monitor, the other goes to my ______________ OR I take my HDMI out of the back of my GPU, plug it into _____________, then plug it from the output of that into my monitor. Details: Don't worry about budget (just looking at options), and don't worry about sound. I'll use VAC's for that. It would be great if it had a "shadowplay"-like feature, but it doesn't need to be limited to gaming grade. I can supply a HDD/EHDD of good size, so don't worry about that either. I'm aware of most capture cards and most things from AverMedia, is there something that can compete against that? Is there an 'underground' product that works just as good that I should know about? Thanks for the help guys.
  10. I'm on the fence on getting one. Ever since joining these forums and subscribing to the channel, I knew Slick was a big ducky fan. Anyone else want him to do a video on it? --- this topic might be in the wrong thread, or a mix between two, move it/lock it if it's a problem --- However, my little blurb on the forums probably isn't going to get much attention, so instead of that, what is 'your guyzez' opinion on ducky keyboards, do you have a preferred alternative that you think I should be looking into? Thanks everyone,
  11. long story short. I have a corsair HX650 gold running an msi gaming mobo, gtx 780 and haswell 4670k cpu. nothing is overclocked right now, because I'm not running anything that requires me to yet. when I turn on my pc, the psu fan spins for a moment, then stops. I was told that the psu won't utilize the fan until the power load requires it. quite simply, is their a test that you would recommend me perform to see if my psu is functioning properly. Thanks everyone,
  12. hmmm... really depends on your tastes I suppose. I like all-rounded machines, I use computers for many different purposes, so if it's COMPLETELY geared for just gaming (I don't even think that's possible), then it would be great to have it in a living room and make it into a casual gaming setup (couch etc), rather than at a desk. and unfortunately for me, I don't use twitter, and I stopped trusting facebook a long time ago after they removed the ability to hide yourself from search.
  13. I never touched the audio, I downloaded it as a 720p mp4, brought it in, did my changes to the video segments and exported it as 720p mp4. I didn't bother the music, but maybe exporting it brought up the volume?
  14. Does anyone watch the intro video and kinda wish that the text synced better with the audio? well I took a crack at it (I am no professional): Maybe I'm just insane, but it bugs me THAT much.
