  1. I need help with a problem. My brother's computer started blue screening occasionally a couple months ago. For a while he would just restart it and Windows would (seemingly) fix the problem. Eventually Windows crashed more and more often. The computer was then rendered useless because it would crash every 10 minutes (not an exaggeration). We initially thought it was an issue with the harddrive, so we put a fresh one in with nothing but windows and the computer seemed to work fine. For a day. It stopped posting and even when it booted it only ran for a couple minutes. So we moved on to testing hardware issues. I swapped out the motherboard, processor, and ram with ones that I knew worked and the computer started booting... only to give us a new problem. Now the screen keeps flashing on and off. All the drivers were recently updated (because we updated them while it was working enough to, hoping it was a driver issue), so I was confused because it couldn't have been bad graphics drivers. I opened the task manager to find that it didn't flash with the rest of the screen. The internet said that there is probably a corrupted file somewhere on the computer, but it didn't give any ideas as to how to find it. Here is a list of the hardware in the computer if its helpful CPU: Ryzen 5 1600 Motherboard: Asrock AB350 B4 Graphics: AMD R9 390 RAM: 16 GB Gskill DDR4 tl;dr screen flashy, but task manager works. Fresh windows install. Drivers updated. No sketchy websites visited. Anything help would be great. Thank you.
  2. This is immensely helpful. I'll try that next time I play
  3. Hello, I've been playing PUBG for a while now, and I don't know if this is a new problem or if it has been happening the whole time, but according to task manager, PUBG is using a steady 98% of my card's power on low settings. Also, HWmonitor lists my temperature at a solid 75ish degrees. I am using a 970 as my driver for this game, but even though it is 4 years old now, I still feel like 98% is excessive especially given that I am playing with all the settings ticked on low. Could it really be that 970s can't handle this game, or is there another issue I need to address. As a side note, I am running in SLI, as my bio says, but I have determined that PUBG does not (yet?) support SLI, so it is disabled when I play. I will list some information that may help troubleshoot below: Processor: FX 8320 @ 3.5 GHz w/ hyper 212 Evo cooler Graphics: 2x 970s, but not in SLI for PUBG Drivers: up to date as of 5/15/18 Game settings: All low, with Vsync off Monitor: 1080p 144hz Fan config: 2 front intake; 1 rear exhaust; 1 upper exhaust It may be important to say that I occasionally get severe lag spikes that will cause my game to freeze for seconds at a time. While this is not so often as to render the game unplayable, it is often enough to make note of. I've included a clip of what I am referring to for visual purposes. I will do my best to provide any additional information if needed. Thank you in advance for any advice. PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS 2018.05.13 - 21.14.40.19.DVRTrim.mp4
  4. Hi, I would like to learn how to 3D model for 3D printing. I have always wanted to print something that I have made. Unfortunately, I am absolutely clueless in this area. I am asking for help finding a program that is intuitive and easy(ish) for beginners to learn. Also, I am taking this up as a hobby and I would prefer to not spend any money on this until I am confident in my abilities. So, I would very much appreciate a free program that I can play around with for the time being. Thank you, JT
  5. Currently using a Sapphire 390, but an upgrade is always nice
  6. The small size and portability of the projector is amazing and the ultra short throw optics are truly astonishing. 60" from 4" away is awesome.
  7. I am currently using a Steelseries Apex and it is a huge keyboard that hangs off my small, student sized, desk. I don't use any of the macros anyway so the extra space it takes up is useless

    Car speakers

I was planning on replacing everything, but my issue is that I am not familiar with reputable brands for car speakers so I am really looking for suggestions on brands or even specific speakers.

    Car speakers

I feel like this probably isn't the right site to ask about car speakers, but whatever. I recently bought my first car from someone on Craigslist--A 2000 Jeep grand Cherokee. The first thing I noticed when I started driving the car is that two of the speakers are blown and it is really irritating given that all I care about in a car is good audio quality. Since I do not know anything about car speakers, I decided to ask the internet for suggestions on new speakers. While I don't have a budget per say, I would rather they be on the more inexpensive side, yet still deliver good audio. The speaker sizes, according to the wonderful internet, are: 6x9" front door 2-1/2" tweeters 6-3/4" back door
  10. With E3 passing and VR on the way, I decided it was time to finally retire my old HD 7750. For as long as Nvidia released the 900 series, I have wanted a 970, but now with AMD's new R9 300 series, I have found myself questioning which video card I should purchase. Any help would be great, as well as specific brands I should buy.
  11. To be honest, there is nothing wrong with my mouse, except for one thing: I use an Ibuypower stock gaming mouse. It is an alright mouse, but it is red. Why is that a problem? My ENTIRE setup is blue. My case, fans, keyboard, speaker LEDs, mouse pad, headset, and wallpapers are all blue and the ocd is getting to me. That is why i want this mouse: to tame my ocd, while not digging into my graphics card savings.
