i disagree. i am not a fan of water cooling at all. you will get somewhat better temps with a hybrid but my personal taste is water and PC's should stay seperate

Well to be fair, you did promise the Great Transistor a sacrificial offering, and your post seems to indicate that you didn't follow through. The Great Transistor can be fickle and quick to anger. Sacrifice those hdds immediately! It was a warning.
 
Also you should sacrifice a few receipts to the venerable Customer Service Manager just to be on the safe side.

there's a big improvement coming from gtx 670 to gtx 970. It runs cool and it runs fast, if you get the gtx 980 its even more faster.

You could pick up a second 670 and be fine for a few years just running sli

Is it worth updating a single (non-SLI) GPU Geforce GTX 670 (made 2012) to a newer generation GPU?

I'm finding hard to work out if there is enough of a benefit for replacing it with a GTX 970 or 980.

The modern games I'm playing are: Fallout 4 and Shadow of Mordor. My current budget is around $500 AUD.

I've attached relevant system info. Help will be much appreciated  I'm a newb in regards to graphics card and a knowledgeable eye would be nice

either one but honestly like ive said a few times id watch the evga b stock site and buy a 970 from there with a 1 year warranty for 250.00 OR a gtx 980 for 350.00 bucks. if you stalk them you will eventually get one. there are a few 980's on there now

i fail to see why people are down on cx psu's. they rarely fail except from user stupidity and are made quite well by a very respected company. they have been tested time and again and output is as it should be as well as having all the common safety features and haveing no heating issues. at 80+ bronze they are fair at efficiency and last for a decade at a price that is more than reasonable. i have built more systems than i can ever remember with them and have no issues

All these posts and no one noticed the "Fury + Fury X", at the Nano price point?
