  1. Hey you still active? I was that guy that made the build list for the mini pc, but I switched accounts. I want to see it! Hopefully it looks good.

  2. Space is at a premium in my apartment. I'd love to have an office where I can spread out, but alas, for that is not in the cards. I have but the one desk, on the same wall as my bed. I use it for the following, in no particular order: 1) Eating 2) Session prep for the D&D group I DM for 3) Miniature painting 4) Gaming 5) Writing 6) Music composition/production 7) Various craft projects 8) Finally, actual "day job" work As you can see, I'm a man who wears many hats. The most unfortunate part of all this is I'm limited at the moment to a Sony Vaio laptop. The only component that I haven't frankensteined on this thing yet is the i3 2.2GHz CPU, because an upgrade would cost more than I paid for the whole laptop. Other than that, the RAM, HDD (now SSD), and wireless adapter have all been replaced or upgraded. I'm afraid the keyboard might be on it's last legs, as well. This Zotac machine would allow me to continue all of my work, free up desk space for hobbies, and I'd finally be able to game with my friends again, as they've all left me in the hardware dust. With 350+ pages of entries, I know my chances are slim, but here's hoping, anyway.
  3. All I know is I'm putting my next build in the Enthoo Evolv
  4. I live in south Louisiana. We use evaporative cooling regularly, and it works just fine.
  5. Build a swamp cooler to go with your fan. Evaporative cooling ftw http://mdpub.com/swampcooler/index.html
  6. spoiler alert: you're getting trolled hardcore
  7. This is my favorite one so far. The Apollo 13 CSM, photographed after separation before reentry
  8. I have a friend who just put solar panels on the roof of his house. He generates enough to sell back to the power company during the day, but at night and during inclement weather, he has to draw power from the grid. A Powerwall would go a long way to helping him stay off the power grid more effectively.
  9. Yes. Alcohol or acetone will clean off pretty much anything. It's a radical new technique called "cleaning"
  10. Why do people like anything? Let people like what they like, bro
  11. Is it sticky? If so, clean it with alcohol and wipe with a soft cloth rag. If not, just wipe it with a clean cloth rag. Keep wiping with clean rags until it's gone.
  12. If that's just oil, there are oil-wicking cloths you can use to wipe it off. Just buff it.
  13. So rather than just use Ctrl+v, which is the default "Paste" command in windows, you'd rather mess with device settings and configuring programs...because you're lazy?
  14. Is there any reason you can't just use Ctrl+V? Are you trying to paste in a game where that command is used for something else?
  15. It'll also take a few rounds of updates. Part of my job involves setting up new PCs for client businesses, which means monitoring Windows Update. On average, it took about 2 full work days to get a fresh Windows 7 install completely up to date.
