Uings reacted to LinusTech in AMD did not send review samples of upcoming series to hardware reviewers (like LTT) in time for the 16th reveal
Just gonna weigh in on a couple things here.
    1. I do not have any new cards from AMD. I don't have tracking numbers and I haven't received a product briefing, reviewers guide, or even an official release date. I am way beyond giving a crap about unreleased products (they're nice but I've determined that I can easily stay relevant without any release day reviews anymore) so I don't really run around trying to dig these details up in the industry and read the same site you guys do. I know basically nothing about 3xx.
    2. There's nothing wrong with letting fans have a sneak peek of something ahead of time. I've heard that Intel seeds processors to game streamers, and Nvidia gave away a whackton of G-SYNC modules.
    3. With that said I agree with Ryan's point that something should be independently evaluated prior to release (based on my retailer experience if it's in stores now and a reviewer hasn't had a card for a few days the review won't be ready in time) and from my past experience when a product is objectively really good the brand is beating down the doors of the most trusted journalists to prove how much ass they just kicked.
This behavior looks more like "we can't win with the usual formula here, so let's throw something else at the wall and see if it sticks"
But just like the rest of you I'm speculating.
Ryan may also know more than he says (also speculation) and I'm intentionally waiting until after I post this to ask him so that I'm not revealing something I shouldn't.
The industry is very small and nothing is a secret.

I Know we are all fed up with the TITAN X posts but this card is SOO overkill

What do you guys think is this REAL??

Looking less likely that its real   12k gaming??
Not only does this BFG Edition feature twice the VRAM, it also has the compute side fully functional and comes with a truly insane overclock out of the box along with a special 300W OC mode. 4k, 5k, 8k or even 12k gaming is possible on this powerhouse

Uings reacted to d3sl91 in Do you think that Nvidia should recall 970's? (and Nvidia's response)
Last time I checked, all my friend's GTX 970s work perfectly fine. People looked at benchmarks, looked at performance ratings at the resolutions and settings they would be running, looked at the prices, and bought them, and they performed exactly as expected.

So, no. Its not like 6 months later they are breaking, they are still performing just the same they did when purchased, and the review copies that benchmarkers got, are the same that people purchased.

So, my vote goes for no, people don't need their money back and nvidia doesnt need to recall the cards.

Not saying they shouldnt, just that they dont NEED too.

Uings reacted to LinusTech in Is Linus homophobic?
"Full homo" is a colloquial term used to imply that a relationship is sexual rather than platonic.

The "homo" part means that the relationship is between two members of the same sex, so while adaptations could exist that are appropriate for use with a member of the opposite sex, I didn't need to use them because Slick is male, and I am male.

It's about like any other joking around that friends (of same sex, opposite sex or anywhere else on the spectrum) might do. I've said similar crap to girls too, and no one cares about that. As long as everyone involved is comfortable with kidding around in such a manner, then it's all between consenting adults, and everyone else can just move right along.

If anyone was offended, then two things:

    1. I'm sorry your feelings were hurt.

    2. Lighten up.

Alright everyone. This has been fun, but here's my final word on the subject:

If someone is offended by the use of the word "homo" in this context (or any context) then it's a matter of weighing my options.

Option #1 is keep doing it anyway. This will be minimal effort for me, and has no measurable effect on me, but it will make others upset.

Option #2 is to stop using the word. This will be minimal effort for me, and has no measurable effect on me, but it will make others happy.

So I think the choice here is obvious. Where it's your personal belief that someone is "too sensitive", if it's no work and has no effect on you to discontinue the offensive behavior, then why not do it? I'm locking this down now, and I appreciate everyone's participation. I really do value community feedback and it's great that everyone stepped up to help me better understand the direction I need to go

Thanks so much for joining. My vision is a community based on positive member interaction and helping each other. I believe that if we all work together toward this goal, we will have success in the long run.
We don't have official forum rules or anything like that yet, but as long as everyone is respectful of each other, and patient with the growing pains that we are going to experience (vBulletin 5 is VERY beta right now) we can make this into an AWESOME community forum.
