  1. I'll disassemble today and apply a new layer of thermal paste, I'll check if it works.
  2. Is it normal for my pc to be in this configuration? If I put the ram on the 1st and 3rd (or 2nd and 4th) slot it won't boot. I did a clean install of Windows 10 and updated my bios today and it still didn't fixed it. The ram I used is a G.Skill Ripjaws V 2400 CL15 2x8gb on a MSI Z170A Gaming M7.
  3. I'm having trouble with my system and I don't know why, My 4.5ghz overclock goes down to 0.8ghz for no apparent reason. I tried to run a benchmark on Intel Extreme Tuning Utility just to check my CPU performance and while running the benchmark it is running on 0.8ghz and states that my CPU is thermal throttling. I don't know if this is a virus or software problem. Also my temps are fine throughout the whole time, I'll try to apply a new spread of thermal paste to see if this helps. My specs: i7 6700k NZXT Kraken X61 Gskill RipjawsV 2 x 8gb MSI Z170 M7 MSI R9 390 8gb Corsair RM750 WD Blue 1tb Kingston HyperX 120gb SSD
  4. I finished swapping out my MSI 970 Gaming with the MSI Z170A Gaming M7, the product activation is okay now thanks to the digital entitlement of Windows 10. Sadly I get BSOD because of DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION, its because of unwanted drivers and applications for the AMD side, not that I blame them. I guess I'll have to do a clean format of Windows 10.
  5. We all know that the free update for Windows 10 has come to a close now, I'm one of those people who updated their operating systems for free. I bought a Skylake setup (mobo, processor, ram) to upgrade my Vishera setup. And here is the problem, I know that when switching motherboards can lead to a system reformat, this is Windows 10 and while searching for some advises on the net I encountered about the digital entitlement, basically means that I have no product key because Microsoft is keeping records of me using a Windows 10 copy, because I upgraded from 8.1 to 10 (I found that from http://www.pcworld.com/article/246040/software/how-to-find-your-windows-or-office-product-key.html). With that I am confused from what I read, because on the properties of my computer I can view my Windows product ID. Here are my questions: 1.) Do I need to do a reformat of Windows 10 when changing from Vishera to Skylake? 2.) I was originally on Windows 8.1, is the key on my Windows 10 copy the same with it? If not where can I find my Windows 10 product key? 3.) I don't quite understand the digital entitlement thing for Windows 10, can someone explain it? and also share your experience of it,Thanks.
  6. To be, or not to be... One RX 480 for me. I have a GTX 750, I want something free. +))
  7. So I finally decided to buy my first aio liquid cooler from NZXT (Kraken X61) and I just have some questions to ask. 1.) Does it require more power? 2.) When setting up push pull config, which setup is better? a.) (Inside of case) || (2 140 air flow fans) |Radiator| (2 static pressured fans) || (Front intake) b.) (Inside of case) || (2 140 static pressured fans) |Radiator| (2 140 static pressured fans) || (Front intake) 3.) Please share some of your experiences (also risks) with AIO coolers. Thanks.
  8. Question: What mouse would I want? Answer: Roccat Kova. Question: Why do you want it? Answer: For reasons (Birthday ), because I want to set the rules.
  9. So recently Windows been giving free Windows 10 upgrades along with DirectX 12 update, and I know that its still new and some software and games have some compatibility issues (In rare cases). So my questions are: 1.) Does Windows 7 and 8.1 support DirectX 12? 2.) Since I upgraded to Windows 10 and decided to revert to Windows 8.1 does my copy of Windows still valid? (After the installation of Windows 10 I accidentally deleted the files of my old os using CCleaner) I still got the installation cd of Windows 8.1. 3.) Widows 10 is free to Windows 7 also, my laptop is 4 years old now and I am wondering if upgrading to Windows 10 will have a significant performance increase or it will only have some issues? (Cortana don't support the area I am currently living though) Laptop specs: CPU: Intel Core i7 2670QM 2.20 GHz RAM: 8gb HDD: Toshiba 750gb GPU: Geforce GT 540M 2gb Thanks in advance.
  10. So Christmas is coming soon and I was thinking on getting a new CPU cooler and I heard (researched it) that the H80iGT AIO CPU cooler from Corsair is good. I am planning on mounting the radiator from the outside of the case and I was wondering if the tubing is detachable from the radiator? Current parts: CPU cooler: DeepCool Lucifer V2 Case: Cougar Challenger
