I was not expecting AkBKukU to be on this list AT ALL. I love his and Druaga1's videos. I attended LTX in 2017 and 2018, definitely going to this one too. Can't wait!!!

Since I don't listen to music very often, my music library isn't very big, so it works for me. My phone has a microSD card slot, which is good enough. At home, all of my music is stored on a 4TB NAS which I can access from my laptop and desktop.

But on the topic of "If you have a legally obtained file, you should also have the media or internet source that file is from", you're missing the point. Audio files can be obtained from a wide variety of sources, legal or illegal. Maybe the user could forget where they obtained the file from after years of it sitting in their iTunes library. Or, maybe that service doesn't let you re-download. Or, it could be an original song that you created that was mis-identified by Apple's system and erased forever.

Well technically Linux isn't Unix, hence why GNU stands for GNU's Not Unix. Try a linux distro such as Ubuntu, Mint, or Elementary OS.

Unix and Linux are two different things. Linux is a monolithic Unix-like kernel. There's a great starter Linux distribution for people making the initial switch from Windows to Linux that's called Zorin OS. It's Ubuntu based, which in turn is Debian based, so there's guaranteed great community support and it's compatible with a butt-ton of Linux programs and such. (By the way, when downloading programs for Linux online, make sure you're downloading the Debian/Ubuntu package (.deb files) for Debian or Ubuntu-based Distros. Linux Mint, Zorin OS, Elementary OS and Netrunner are all Ubuntu-based. But there's a whole bunch of Linux distributions out there, and they all have their similarities and differences, so I recommend that you first research Linux. Head over to DistroWatch and take a look at the most popular distros and their features. Before installing, learn some of the basic Terminal commands and get to know the Linux filesystem. It's very different from Windows. Once you've done that, download some distros, open VirtualBox or VMWare and try them out until you find one that you like.

    TL;DR

Get to know the command line, then experiment with a bunch of different distros 'til you find one that you like.

are people still not over this? you know, i got my 970 before that news came out, and it still performs equal now. (in fact, driver updates, it's gotten a bit faster)

on topic: i'd say to sit it out one more generation, or see if you can pick up another r9 390 on the cheap, and later on sell them as a pair.

"down the line" is exactly when you'll really start wishing you had used on from the start
Everyone talks about how much faster boot times are with an SSD, and while that's true, IMO it's actually the least significant benefit.  For one, the machine just feels way more responsive.  You remember the old days every time you'd get a new computer, whether it was moving up to XP, or to windows 7 or whatever and it just felt way faster than what you used to have?  Adding an SSD does that same thing to existing hardware, even if you already have a great CPU and other stuff.  Second, you know how Windows tends to slow down over time and to bring it back to original performance you have to reinstall every few years?  That's totally gone with an SSD; you keep day one speed for life!   Third, while boot time are great, log on times are a nicer thing to have be fast, and boy to SSDs help here!  Not only will it be noticeably faster to reach the desktop and to get usable from day 1, but this too is maintained going forward, contrary to the experience you get on a HDD where log on gets slower and slower over time to the point where you're waiting over a minute for the system to be usable.

that's just my two cents for whatever it's worth
