@Stonelesscutter I don't know how you have the patience and drive to dig through all that. I've given up, I'm not paying incorrect charges and I'll do everything I can to avoid parcelforce, dhl and whatever other dodgy charges from now on. I'm counting this as a full loss as far as I'm concerned and won't sweat it anymore. So I'll wait for an LTT local warehouse. All the best!

Hi, it looks like it's what just happened to me. On an order of $192.96 Canadian, shipping $21.99, taxes $42.99 So total paid online $257.94 Canadian. I got this beautiful letter from Parcel Force courier (which is an UK Royal Mail handler) for £74.57 =~ $128.51 Canadian. see attached letter below. I called parcel force and said they've got nothing to do with the amount and to call HMRC. I did, and they basically said import duties are to be charged, but they wouldn't bother investigating if the amount is correct. So in the courier chain, it was Wizmo, then DHL via US and in tracking it shows from Richmond to CA US to UK , but on DHL intermediate tracking it's got a CG..DE code which means Germany to parcel force apparently.

I don't remember filling in any forms, that's the thing. I've been very busy doing all sorts of stuff last week, and really can't remember. Is the "registration" literally just adding the team ID when installing the folding software? Can you share the daily stats link? Have you tried, once in bios, if you can get in, to restore bios to "safe defaults" or something like that, not defaults, there's another option, I think it's "safe defaults"? If you can't get to bios, try one stick into furthest white slot, if not, try another stick into same slot, if not, try in middle white slot, etc. You might need 2 boots pass post for the mobo to adjust itself. Also check bios battery, maybe.

Hmm, according to pcpartpicker.com it's fine, Can this site be trusted? Here's the config at this link . My initial question still stands, if a uefi only gpu can still be used by having a second GPU just for bios posting? or even integrated gpu, but in my case this mobo and cpu do not have integrated gpu. I actually have my main rig with 1080 and this mobo, and 1080 GPU works at 90-100% with cpu at 30% on full detail 3440x1440 80~100fps (100 is max), so i7 970 doesn't seem to be a bottleneck, yet. Of course, it will depend on the game, but I've tried several so far and results are similar. Worth mentioning cpu is oc at 4GHz. The thing is the RX 5700 is such a good deal now, new, compared to 1080 and also free-sync monitors cheaper, that I want to build this second rig for a friend with the 5700.

I did find that post on pc-specs before I raised this topic, but I have also noticed it gives a performance rating of 7.4 and what does that actually mean , for example a board with a rating of 5 is or is it not compatible with the RX5700 :)) Hypothetically speaking, would RX5700 not posting on GA-X58A-UD3R (rev. 2.0) mean a rating of "0" ?

GTX1080 works fine on this GA-X58A-UD3R (rev. 2.0) mobo but RX5700 is newer and apparently is UEFI only, but can't find any clear info. And unrelated but worth mentioning, GTX 1080 is pcie 3 and RX5700 is pcie4. GA-X58A-UD3R (rev. 2.0) is pcie 2.

Hi all, Looking at a new GPU, for example RX 5700, I understand it requires an UEFI mobo, I have Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R (rev. 2.0) (+i7 970) which has an old school bios (blue ugly basic bios). Is it possible to firstly fit an old GPU, like nvidia GT8600 into a 4x PCIe slot (or even 1x slot) which will post the bios, do all bios settings (whatever bios settings I might want to change, even oc) etc, and then power off and also install the RX5700 into the 16x PCIe slot? Will the RX card be usable this way with the non UEFI bios? ? So both cards will remain installed if necessary, but will the presence of the nvidia gt8600 be necessary? On a separate note, is there a magic website where it shows which GPUs are uefi only and which not? I did dig the mighty google without success. Thanks!

Update.. I noticed the connectors at the back are 1xdp 1xhdmi and 2x dvi. THIS IS A FREAK..ng gtx 970! I've been (and the retailer) conned!

Hi all, I just bought an MSI GTX1080 Gaming X and when I fit the graphics card in, the PSU, beQuiet E7-550W doesn't start (even it's fan doesn't start). The motherboard is Gigabyte x58a-ud3r and when this happens, two small leds , yellow and green lit up on the mobo and stay solid, and nothing happens. Normally, without the MSI graphics card, with another graphics card (ASUS en210 silent), everything starts up normally, and a row of small leds lit up on the mobo, green and a few yellow and orange go solid for a few seconds, and then everything starts, cpu fan, etc. I am suspecting a DOA (dead on arrival) graphics card, as it was grade A and it looks pretty dusty, even though I bought it from a reputable online retailer. It's also missing the large bottom plate, and I thought all MSI gaming X 1080s came with a bottom plate with the dragon logo. Has anyone heard of an beQuiet 550W psu not being able to power up a gtx1080 ?? I highly doubt it, as I don't have anything else in the system, just one ssd, cpu I7 970 and 24G of RAM triple channel (6x4GB) I have measured all the pins of the PSU and they all have the voltage. And if they wouldn't have voltage, I'd say that the GPU wouldn't start but the rest should. It's like the PSU goes into protect mode and the graphics card is shorting out something. Any ideas? You should simply pity me for still using the Microsoft wheel mouse optical 1.1 after.. roughly 8 years! Keep wanting to get a new one but could never decide, aaand quite frankly wasn't disappointed with the Microsoft one.. check this out! Including shooter games
