TheCookieGuru got a reaction from Roll_Like_Rollo in Experiences with non-techies
I was talking with my friend's brother. I was trying to tell him that PC gaming is superior to console gaming. He told me that the Xbox 360 had the best graphics on the market. Keep in mind this was like a year after the Xbox One was released.
My girlfriend is a non-techie. She has a Macbook Pro for one, even though she only does things like Word and PowerPoint (Windows programs, heh heh). If you have to get a Mac, at least get the right one!
When I told her I got PC parts for my B'day and built at PC, after showing her a picture she was like: "What's all that crap?"

I hate when console fanboys are like: consoles are better than PCs and when I say they should give me a reason, it's normally some shit.

At my school they have really old computers, some HP some Dell, and they take like 10 minutes to boot and the teachers complain why we haven't started our work yet. Also when the systems boot I open task manager and see the CPU usage at 100%. The hard drives are so filled up that ScriptLogic can't even run. They expect us to do video editing with 2GB of DDR2 RAM and a Core 2 Duo.

Both have their advantages. Nvidia has PhysX and GSync and AMD has Mantle and TrueAudio

Is the RAM DDR3 or DDR4?
If it's DDR4, then you are good to go. If it's DDR3, then you need to pick a kit of DDR4. Everything else looks fine.

Alright. Thanks mate. You have also been a huge help to me.
I'm starting with 3 HDDs, and I think I'll get a cheap 32GB ADATA SSD for the OS. That's 4 SATA connectors used. Then, in the near future, I'll only expand to get 2 more drives, instead of 3, as I originally planned. It should be enough. Thanks again mate, can't express my thanks enough.

TheCookieGuru got a reaction from melias24 in What To Do?
If they are M.2 or mSATA, you could get a 512GB SSD, but even better, since the HDDs used in laptops are 2.5'', you can put a regular SSD in there. You could even put a WD Black Squared (http://www.amazon.com/Black2-Dual-Drive-2-5-WD1001X06XDTL/dp/B00GSJ9X4Q/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1438063481&sr=1-1&keywords=wd+black+squared) in the 2.5'' drive slot, and then get a 512GB M.2 or mSATA SSD, whichever the laptop you chose takes, if you even get a laptop, and if money allows.
