Gonna be honest I was wondering why you guys were saying Welsh spent so much money on casual game. "The biggest percentage of your money comes from whales," not Wales. I am clearly not the sharpest bulb in the bunch.

Successfully Overclocking my i5 4440
rrps700 replied to rrps700's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Just change the bclk in the bios. Any z97 board should have the option to do so. If you look at my userbench scores you can see my hardware in full detail. I'll put together a file to show what my settings are too I guess. -
So it's either not there or unindexed either way it's gone. Try reinstalling the software
-
Then is the file even there. If you are sure it is and just can't see even with hidden files viewable you can use the command line or system user to find it. Also try manually typing the directory into the address bar of your file manager
-
Have you checked if the file is set to read only

LTT Forums CPU Overclocking Database!

Is there anyone updating the document anymore other to the submisssions? -
Shure microphones have the same notice that is because chrome is a carcinogen when ingested so if you don't eat your microphone you should be fine.

Indoor or out door

You should never pop it. If it gets infected you should de-lid it with a clean/sterilised instrument. The 80% isopropyl bit could actually be good advice (it is actually used for sterilisation) if it is infected although it would be a lot less painful if 70% were used.

Can you post a picture of the processes in task manager (found in the details tab). To me it sounds like a cpu usage issue (with the lower settings making it worse)
-
Yup webs in grass. Yours is nice but could do with a little more exposure

What is the average speed of a 7200 RPM drive?
rrps700 replied to kingkvndrick's topic in Storage Devices
7200 rpm would be my guess. But joking aside the rest of your set up can influence the speed that you get from a drive -
Successfully Overclocking my i5 4440
rrps700 replied to rrps700's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
I mean 3.5ghz that's a 0.2 over the boost as the Base frequency. I did get 3.6 by clocking the bclk to 107.6 but it was hot and unstable and I can't be arsed with change the voltage to stabilise it. Although if I get a better cooler and work out a good voltage I can push 3.7ghz I am sure -
So I can't afford a new CPU at all and started to notice a slight bottleneck in recent CPU intensive titles. There is also slight wear on my HDD so that doesn't help either. But determine to get that extra bit in games I set off as normal read all the articles on non-k overclocking and most of the articles just said something along the lines of either "it can't be done" or "the improvement can't be that much". And what I had read on forums seemed to confirm that. All of my tests are using the stock cooler too. So I ran userbenchmark to get a base line reading (using the Asus optimal configuration) on April 3rd 2017 and the result was nothing to write home about not the worst reading to the i5 4440 but also not the best. After playing around a little with the settings in the UEFI to see the limits of my hardware I managed to used the BCLK to overclock my CPU on the second run to be considerably faster but had to dial the BCLK back a little as it seemed to prevent any worth while ram overclocking as well as causing occasional crashes. So the same day I redid the overclock and on the 3rd run got this result. And finally today I ran the last benchmark to make sure everything was stable and it is. Below is the link to ark for the i5 4440 and a few images to show CPU speed. below is ark for the 4440 and a few images showing core speed. including one uncropped with a timestamp for now so any doubt is cast aside. http://ark.intel.com/products/75038/Intel-Core-i5-4440-Processor-6M-Cache-up-to-3_30-GHz EDIT:Fixed wrong link

I need the ram for certain things I do. I use photoshop a fair amount and work on 5GB PSDs sometimes. I also do a lot of sound stuff incase that was not obvious.

If windows is booting then the bsod appears after then configuration issue with windows than the hardware if bsoding on boot then you need to follow my earlier advice to a tee. If the RAM shows on the post screen it is likely a windows issue with detecting the new ram. To be clear I do understand HARDWARE I am a computer science student on track to get a 1-2
