Fiio M3 $60USD. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B018K88OSS/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A2EY5WP9K29AC7&th=1 Fiio makes some other highish end music players. It's smaller than you expect and looks pretty nice. Expect relatively good build quality for this price range. If you just want to make a music play into your headphones then something like Sandisk clip $40 https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Player-Screen-MicroSDHC-SDMX24-008G-G46K/dp/B00HCMZ2SE/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1497590307&sr=1-1&keywords=sansa+mp3+player They both have expandable storage. Make sure you check out some reviews and check amazons recommendeds section for alternatives.

The headphones themselves are powered by the adapter. The adapter is battery powered and has a normal headphone output just like you're phone would have. You have to charge the adapter. It has a USB Micro B charge port. You can turn it on and off, play, pause and change volume with the adapter.

$55 Dollars Superlux 668B: https://www.amazon.com/Superlux-HD668B-Dynamic-Semi-Open-Headphones/dp/B003JOETX8/ref=sr_1_1?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1485563907&sr=8-1&keywords=superlux+668 Mpow Bluetooth adapter: https://www.amazon.com/Mpow-Bluetooth-Receiver-Streambot-Hands-free/dp/B00MJMV0GU/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1485563936&sr=8-3&keywords=mpow The Headphones have an attached short wire that can plug right into the adapter. you can double sided tape or velcro the adapter to the earcup. They are semi open. It's not an eloquent solution, and you may want to change the earpads as they are kinda uncomfortable, but this is the one of the best bang for the buck "bluetooth" headphone you can get. I've never tried a projector for gaming, but it could be interesting. The projector looks cool, too.

2700k speeds drop to stock under load
TheRower replied to TheRower's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
So I used AIDA64 and it's working properly. I guess the intel program was my problem, but its weird cause this never happened on my 4770k machine. Either way it's working now and not dropping. Thanks for the help!- 13 replies

2700k speeds drop to stock under load
TheRower replied to TheRower's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
I use the bios. I also had the physics part of 3Dmark Skydiver looping and saw the same drop happening. Under the gaming load of Civ 5, it didn't drop. I'll try other stress tests too, but I don't think the utility I'm using is the problem, its probably a setting I'm missing.- 13 replies

So I just built a 2700k system and overclocked it to 4.8GHZ. When I go to stress test it, after 1-2 min, the clocks and voltage drop to stock 3.5Ghz. 1) 2) 3) Anyone know what's going on? Thermal throttling is turned off, all c states are disabled, power option is set to high performance, and speed step is off. If you think it's cause the Tcase of 72 C on the 2700k, I had the drop happening when the max temps were only 60C thanks to the low ambient temp in my basement.

It's from the top of my sholder to my wrist, not on a sweater.

I was having trouble picking a size for my sweater. The height and width measurements put me in large, but those arm lengths are WAY too long! I'm measuring around 27" from where it indicates to measure sleeve length from, which isn't even as long as X-small. Does anyone know why?

Just realized the Debug led was a big plus on my MSI Z97M. I'm looking the Asus Hero VII open box on newegg for $160 CAD. Good buy? -

How about the Sabertooth Mark2? Does that still receive a vote of confidence, cause I prefer the colour scheme on it. Its a little less in your face about its beige. -

I've been debating over that, I have the Z97m from MSI now and I can't complain about performance but its just too small right now. Thanks for the input. -
This one has most of the bells and whistles I need, including S/PIDF output, ATX form factor, multiple physical 16x slots and generally all black/mostly black finish. https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-motherboard-gaz97xud3hbk I'm planning to have a 280x and 7970 GHz in Cross fire until I buy a future current gen card and my mATX mobo just can't fit 2 cards plus my Noctua NH-D14. Any other suggestions in this price point ($199 CAD/$150 USD), or any complaints about this one specifically? -Thanks

Try getting a nice flat sounding pair of headphones for mixing so your sound more or less exactly how you mixed it. Your current system is probably extremely bass heavy, so if another person listens to your mix, it may sound weak on the bass end unless they also have a bass heavy setup. Then use your current system for those other use cases you spoke of. the main thing is you want to be mixing using clean, flat speakers/headphones. Studio monitors for $150 (I'm assuming usd) is really low even for entry level. I'd look into some good $100-$150 studio headphones or save up and give yourself a higher budget for studio monitors.

Oh ok good to know. It all makes sense now.

All very valid points. I guess import costs and such could be the cause of that price jump, but I thought with NAFTA (some north american national trade deal) tariffs and import charges wouldn't add 15-20% to a ticket price. Also I'm like 30 min from Toronto, and ya I guess its a pretty nice place. I'm not much of a city boy myself. More of a country bumpkin that uses manure generated electricity to light my house and my power computer. When I want more FPS I give the cows taco bell for an energy boost.

Is your CPU utilization hitting 100% during the test? -
Hey man, I'm not saying we're the ones having the worst time over here. I always wonder how Canada can differ so much from the the US when were so close to it. I guess that's just how the world works.
