SMAA is arguably the most supported since you can just inject it into any game with SweetFX\ReShade. It's just post process AA. MSAA is hardware AA and is indeed really inefficient in deferred rendering engines
The most effective AA is most definitely SGSSAA (sparse grid super sampling), but as far as I know that's only supported by Nvidia in some DX9 games. Not sure if that's ever worked in DX11.
Next up is ordered grid super sampling, which can be achieved by downsampling (using DSR or custom resolutions). If you have the hardware, this is the way to go seeing as most post processing AA sucks and a lot of games don't support anything else. Downsampling from 4K is going to kill most aliasing in a lot of games.... though as we get more detailed games, you wind up still having aliasing at 4K. 4K + SMAA works wonders though.
I hate FXAA with a fiery passion though. I'll typically disable that in-game and just inject SMAA if it's not an option.
If you REALLY want to dig into aliasing and anti-aliasing techniques.... Durante of DSFix fame did a lengthy article on the topic.

jim2point0 got a reaction from McHox in @1080 ti strix owners, what kinda clocks are you getting?
Well I got my Strix and tested it. I max out at 1987mhz. That's... really not great. That said, it's way cooler and quieter than the FTW3. I just wish it clocked higher and could allow for a higher TDP.

SLI support is fantastic. Now I can get this IQ and mostly 60 FPS.

Downsampling.
Still not getting any grass planets. Grrrrr.
Not pictured: the 13 planets I visited with penis trees.

FOV can be changed. You can force it even higher in the game's INI file. Otherwise the game requires a restart for every graphics setting change, so you won't notice differences unless you completely restart. Even for resolution. Very annoying.
As for the game... I hate it. There's just absolutely nothing to do. Even if you find yourself on an interesting looking planet, there's nothing different to do there than the last planet you were on. The combat sucks and feels like an afterthought rather than something fun. The survival elements seem tacked on to keep you constantly mining stuff so you can keep refilling your life support (ugh).
I don't know why I bought it. I guess because all my friends bought it and were talking about it so I had to check it out for myself. I wish I didn't.
