  1. Sorry meant to quote this one lol anyway yeah new to forums, so if I did something weird just let me know
  2. I will be completely honest this is my first like real thread I have created (relatively new to forums) so if I did something weird let me know!
  3. to be fair the google ecosystem with drive and all the other google features is pretty powerful. I even keep most of my contacts in google to keep things together, not knocking iCloud but there are options on the android side of things
  4. That would definitely be an interesting turn of events! We could definitely use another competitor in the market. I don't know why windows mobile never really took off, I guess maybe lack of support? It would be nice to have it as another option.
  5. Well discussions like these are important to have. Honestly I have a lot to learn about mobile devices in general (starting school for computer engineering at a university soon) and I try to be as unbiased as I can. To clarify, I like the hardware Samsung produces for the most part, just never felt like attached to the "brand" per say. I feel as though when someone just sticks to a brand (whether it be iOS or Android really) they miss out on a lot that is going on in the industry. Even if they don't buy the other companies products its worth paying attention to. Anyway thank you as well, lol I hesitated posting this topic as I didn't want to start a flame war but I have been very happy with the comments everyone has put thus far.
  6. Understandable points! Yeah the note was interesting to say the least :P. I have enjoyed the galaxy personally but never really felt stuck to Samsung in the hardware side of things. That is one of my favorite things about android is being able to look around at the other producers and find something different. Anyway I appreciate you sharing
  7. That's a good point. Reminds me of people describing a car as something to get from A to B , while others take great pride in what they drive.
  8. If you don't mind me asking.... why do you hate Samsung, just curious?
  9. I do agree the transition between successive iOS devices is handled well, and is easy for end users through iCloud
  10. So frequently I hear the point that Apple devices ( in this case I'm mainly referring to iOS devices, but I guess the same could be said for the OSx devices) are easier to use than android devices when discussing which someone should choose. Personally I have never understood this, and I wanted to discuss specifics about this. As a disclaimer I use mostly android and have been using a galaxy s7 for a while and been happy with it, but I do use some Apple products such as an ipad. Not even discussing performance and hardware, is the software just easier to use on the Apple side of things? If it is, how so? Personally I find them strikingly similar in many respects especially when it's just for an average user. I find all the basic functions ( texting, calling, pictures, basic setting manipulation) to be relatively straight forward on both platforms. I would love to hear some people's thoughts on this! Oh, also I'm not trying to fanboy or anything so please if you don't mind let's try looking at this from a mostly unbiased perspective if possible , thanks
  11. I would suggest using a kit, I built a prusa i3 kit and had a good time doing it
  12. I used a RPi2 and created a VPN that ended up functioning better than I expected. I tried to host some servers for simple games (i.e. Minecraft) but ran into some performance issues, but maybe the RPi3 is better suited for that task. If you are going to get one definitely have some projects in mind first that way it doesn't just end up collecting dust. Otherwise they are a lot of fun and can be a great way to get some linux experience if you haven't worked with it before!
  13. I have seen some great things about the Tarantula, and will definitely have to check it out!
  14. I built a folger tech prusa i3 2020 and learned a lot throughout the process. I hit a few roadblocks due to mainly mistakes I made...but it ended up working well. I can definitely second the fact that you will spend a good amount of time calibrating to get your prints just right, but if you are up for a challenge and want to really get to know your printer its the way to go! You may even save a few bucks in the process. By the way, I built the enclosure for it so forgive my scrappy looking wood work! https://folgertech.com/collections/3d-printer-full-kits/products/folger-tech-reprap-2020-prusa-i3-full-aluminum-3d-printer-kit
  15. It's crazy to see how such a small projector can produce such a large image. Would love to use this on my wall
