Ye but in a effort to try eliminate components that might cause my motherboard to not work and to get it to post I removed the cooler to see if it would post it got really hot and smelt funny so not feeling to optimistic but hey was only a quick boot to see if it would post. ye might replace the motherboard as if CPU is fucked I can always return the motherboard.

Make sure afterburner has start with start up ticked(this is inside the settings and is not same as the startup button on the main screen) set you settings then press the tick or apply button and save profile and make sure the startup button is higlighted which i can see it already is

I don't have any issue with my current PC plays all games I need just fought be good to upgrade but if I'm going to keep the GPU might well keep rest and just replace board
I don't know I'm terrible with decisions. Issue is I might have burnt out my CPU trying to test/repair my motherboard so that is a gamble. the CPU has warranty though just if it cover being overheated.

A bare bones version doesn't really help though with performance. Most of the things that are enabled by default are just sitting around waiting to be used, as an operating system's main job is just to provide services for the applications that the user wants the run. If an OS service taking up a lot of CPU time, then either an application is pinging the service too much, or there is genuinely something wrong with the service or what the application wants the service to do . Though it does not necessarily mean the service itself is bad.

More user-settable options or an "expert mode" would be nice, but at the same time this seems to have been addressed by Microsoft since Windows 95: https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/oldnewthing/20030728-00/?p=43043

The only thing Game Mode seems to help with though is for UWP based games, because UWP requires the application to jump through more hoops. Win32 apps are basically as "close to metal" as you can get in a Windows environment on the user land level.

Another problem is Microsoft established a "default" version, and from there, adds to it. If you started taking things away and release that version to the masses you can run into issues where applications expecting the default configuration break, because the configuration the application developer was expecting isn't there (I wager most application developers assume the default configuration on the OS is being used, because what else can they do?)

I really think you're good! As for your ram concerns if you look up the actual formula for comparing calculation cycle times for ram it's not that harsh of a hit from ddr3 to ddr4. Eventually you'll upgrade, but I vote wait another cycle or three!

It's obvious Intel and Nvidia both need a good punch to the gut like what happened to the horrifyingly overpriced 780 when the 290X launched. They had to drop their prices by 150 USD!

you are safe for at least another 2 gens yet possibly 3 if there is no huge leap forward which i doubt it unless AMD Ryzen is a true moster and blast past Intel which even then probs still going to be safe for another 2 gens so ye dont worry untill you actualy see unplayable game performance.

Im using the i5 Haswell refresh chip and even that is going strong so im not gonna upgrade for at least another year or two altho I'm tempted to buy a AMD Ryzen rig if it turns out to be decent.

If its an Intel Xeon past socket 771, enable Speedstep and all the sleep (C) states in the BIOS.  Should reduce it down, the operating system will also need to have its power parameters configured also.

your monitor is a 4k monitor and your ps4 output is 1080p, that is really dumb. and DP is use for 4k 60hz, ps4 really dont need that.

To be honest , you bought the worst monitor for your ps4, its a TN panel so colors are washed out and viewing angle suck and its 4k with display port only or hdmi 24hz so even ps4 pro wont have DP to connect.

you really should have bought  a 1080p 60hz 24'' ips monitor that will look 100x better than the cheap 4k you have

I think you really pick the worst monitor ever for a ps4 by wanting the ''best''

    it cost me about £5

    it require no additinal power

this one dosnt come with cables so you would need to buy a usb hub or a 2 usb in to 1 usb adapter and then 2 x usb a to usb b wires.

Try the Corsair Katar. It does have 8000dpi, but that can be reduced with the button on the top. It is $49AUD though; just below your £30 price range. It does however look similar to that of the Adder, but I wouldn't know how it feels.

I bought the Azio EXO1-K (only $20) recently after my old mouse died and it's been serving me well. Comfy, lit with white LEDs and well-weighted, with the "classic" shape you're talking about (DPI hits at least 3500 too so you're covered there, and the mouse has 6 buttons).
