Didn't have an overclock and my ram is seated properly. I still haven't been able to figure out the problem.

Reseated everything and problem is still happening. Pretty sure I fried my motherboard.

Okay, so I finally found some extra time to switch back to air cooling from watercooling because of some rattling noise my water-cooler was making and wasn't in the mood to mess around with it. So while I was unmounting the backplate for my h100i one of the screws somehow got stuck in the motherboard mounting holes and the piece of the backplate was stuck to the other side of the screw so I couldn't take it out. I got really pissed off and got some pliers and was sort of cutting thedge backplate piece off with the pliers because it was plastic. I eventually got it off but I had to wiggle the screw to make the motherboard hole a little bit bigger because it wouldn't quite come through. I eventually got the screw out and installed my hyper 212 Evo normally without any problems. When I went to boot my pc back up, everything turns on, fans start spinning for about 10 seconds, then the pc shuts off, then reboots itself doing the same thing where everything seems to be on but it doesn't post. No beeping or anything. I was wearing anti static gloves while doing all of this but was doing all of this with my computer resting upright on my bed because it's the only place I had to work because Im renting a room and it's very small. What could the issue be here? I'm a bit at a loss...

it's a great CPU if you're using it for gaming. i used to have an i5 4670k and it was great. i assume you won't be doing any overclocking since you're looking at the 4690 and not the 4690k? either way, it's a solid processor. if you're a video editor or use alot of 3D applications, an i7 would be the way to go. if not, an i5 is perfect.

Hey LTT Community, So for about a year, I had an i5 4670k overclocked at 4.0GHz being cooled by a CM Hyper 212 Evo, idle temps were about 28-29C, under load they never went over 50C even while rendering a video and using prime 95 to stress test. About 3 months ago, I upgraded to an i7 4790k and expected temps to be higher since it's more powerful than an i5 obviously. Temps were about 8 degrees hotter with the i7, no big deal. Well last week, I wanted to switch to watercooling and decided to buy the Thermaltake Water 3.0 Ultimate all in one watercooler, which is a triple 360MM radiator that came with 3 static pressure fans by thermaltake. First time I installed it, I didn't seat the CPU block correctly and tried it again and got it the 2nd time. I immediately wanted to compare the temps from air cooling to my new watercooler and was very confused by the results. At idle, the temps are definitely lower with the watercooler sitting at about 24-25C, but under load is what confused me. Like I said before, air cooling under load on my i5 never went above 50C, but after upgrading to my i7, temps under load were about 64C which is fine for me. I did a stress test in prime 95 and temps on my watercooler (i also have 5 other 140mm case fans) were in the 70's, with the highest temp getting up to 87C. I'm rendering a video currently with the average CPU temps being about 84C... I don't understand. I'm a noob with watercooling 100%, but isn't it suppose to make your temps better than air cooling? I THINK I remember hearing that watercooling temps depend ALOT on the room temperature and temperature outside too and my room is always fairly hot, would this be the cause of it? My watercooler was $130 and my aircooler wasn't even $30 and it seems to perform better by quite abit. Anyone mind explaining this to me? I'd really appreciate it. ~Reanna

Hey LTT Community! So I'm pretty much rebuilding my computer and upgrading to X99 slowly but surely. Next on my list is a new computer case and I'm 100% getting a Phantek case BUT I'm having a hard time deciding which one to get... So I'm asking you guys what you think. Basically what my future plans are is that I'm gonna eventually have a custom water cooling loop, hard lined tubing more than likely and I will be cooling both my graphics card and obviously my CPU too. Right now I have 1 980Ti, but I'm eventually gonna pick up a second one, so I need to keep that in mind too. So basically the cases I'm trying to pick between are the Phantek Enthoo Pro, Phantek Enthoo Luxe, and the Phantek Enthoo Primo. I was mostly leaning towards the Primo, but it's a $250 case which isn't the issue. I just wanna know if the Primo would be worth the purchase, or if I should just settle for one of the other 2 options. Hopefully you guys can help me decide. Hey LTT Community. I recently just landed a new job doing repairs on computers and saw in one of Linus' videos recently that he was able to monitor how much wattage his PC was using, I believe it was a test with titan x's or it may have been the PC in the fridge video. I ordered a meter off of amazon earlier for work and was wondering if I even got the right item, I'll post a link below. try logging into your router via your internet browser and reset it to factory settings in the menu and the router will refresh itself. i used to have this same very problem, and when it would act up i would reset it to factory defaults. it would be perfectly fine afterwards about 20 minutes after doing it. hope this helped or maybe gives you an idea.
