  1. I had a wraith prism cooler lying around. I decided to reuse the led strip inside the cooler to stick inside my case somewhere. When I disassembled the whole thing, I found that the controller for the RGB had 2 pins (positive and negative) which was going to the PWM connector of the FAN. I assumed that its purpose was to check whether the fan was connected or not. So I disconnected those from the fan and connected the positive cable to the 12V pin of the ARGB cable and the negative to the blue pin of the ARGB cable to hopefully fool the controller. In addition, I disconnected the RGB cable going to the fan (prism's fan is also RGB). After all this, I connected the ARGB to the motherboard to find that the led strip lights up in red, only in red. Also, the controller makes a loud whining sound. Am I missing something? Alternatively, is there a separate controller I can buy to connect the led strip (VCC, DIN, GND) to ARGB in the motherboard? PS: My knowledge in electronics is limited. High school level.
  2. Do you mean one intake fan at the top(before CPU cooler), 3 intake fans at the front, one exhaust in the rear and one exhaust in the top after the CPU cooler? 1 fan : generic case fan other 3 fans: https://www.amazon.com/Cooler-Master-A12025-12CB-3BN-F1-DF1202512SELN-0-16A/dp/B01E43FI82
  3. 3 Intake (one came with the case) in the front. 1 exhaust. All the other fans are this.
  4. Corsair Carbide 175r and some cheap $10 fans.
  5. Won't this configuration mess with the "hot air rises up" phenomenon? Would this pull the hot air from GPU and make the CPU hotter? Or am I overthinking all this? My case fans are all pretty week. So if is use just one exhaust fan, I should get a fan with better airflow rating.
  6. I just built a PC and am planning to upgrade to a Noctua nh-d15s. I am using RTX 2070 with an open air design. Because the nh-d15s is very big, I am worried about the following: Will the GPU temps be affected? Will CPU temps increase because of the hot GPU? How should the fans be configurated? (see pic). I am living in a polluted and dusty city, so I have installed pretty restrictive air filters in the front of the case. Should the top fans be exhaust or intake or a mix of both? How many top fans do I need? (I need to keep the air pressure positive inside the case, so I was hoping 1 would be enough) Where should I place the fans on top? (should i place it just above the noctua, won't it pull hot air from GPU through the fins?) PS: I am new to PC building.
  7. Why is the Geekbench 4 - CPU score for windows nearly half of what the hackintosk scored?
  8. But, I did not have Windows 7 in the first place, I had 8.1. So I need to get a license for windows 7.
  9. My laptop (HP envy touchsmart j109tx) is not shutting down completely. Whenever I shut it down, it goes to sleep. But I can Restart for 'completely installing updates'. It even works with "Update and Shut down". The only problem is whenever I do shut down (even pressing down Power button) the power light keeps on blinking and pressing on any keys or track pad switches the computer back on. I checked in the Power Management settings only to find out that there are no wrong settings. I even tried upgrading to Windows 10 from 8.1, with no results. It's been a year, I started checking other forums for possible explanations. I think, if I remember correctly, it started after migrating to an SSD from the stock SSHD. I backed up and restored the drive to SSD for migration. I have also started suspecting that it is a hardware issue. Can anyone help me? I have also noticed that I am unable to upgrade BIOS (currently running Insyde F.66) to a new version when HP launched BIOS updates in its website (tried from within Windows 10).
  10. I Transcend SSD scope
  11. I bought a new transcend SSD and used transcend SSD scope software to clone my hard drive which is an SSHD. But while booting from the SSD it shows "Your PC ran into problem". And on the next screen it shows "A required device is not connected or cannot be accessed." An error code: 0xc0000225 is also shown. Can anyone help me? Is it because of hybrid drive (It is of Seagate)? My laptop is hp envy touchsmart or should I change the boot settings? (I did cloning from the same laptop.)
