  1. I have an odd issue, Computer works great, but every once in a while (about once a month) apon boot up my computer locks up at the splash screen at post. If I pull out my pci-e ssd and turn on the computer I get past the splash screen and into the bios, then if I turn the computer off reinstall the ssd into the pci-e slot and turn the computer back on it boots to windows just fine. It continues to work without problem for a few weeks. This has been going on for the last six or so months. I have tried reinstalling windows, and I have also tested each component individually with no issue. I cannot force replicate it. Now something new happened last night my screen went gray with a loud noise and then on restart it did the same thing locked up until i removed and re slotted the drive. i7 5960x Asus Deluxe x99 motherboard Corsair Dominator 32GB (8gb x4) Intel 750 series AIC 400gb PCI-e 3.0x4 SSD Nvidia Titan Z GPU EVGA 1000W Supernova G2
  2. Is it worth upgrading? Current rig: i5 7600k Vega 64 16gb ddr4 2400 1440p freesync display Edit: ill i do is game
  3. yes I have, and the drive does not need to be initialized and formated. it reads fine just not in this laptop, the other drives I used for testing are showing up in the laptop just not the the original one.
  4. Dell laptop, had windows 10 running fine. Now it does not boot to windows and the bios no longer sees the drive at all. If i plug the drive into any of my bench computer, the computer reads the drive just fine. So i thought it was an issue with the laptop, but I have put multiple other blank drives into the laptop and its sees them all in the bios. any ideas?
  5. I have a powercolor red devil vega 64 available to me, so sounds like i should go with that. I have never owned a powercolor card before, are they just as reliable as I got the monitor a year and a half ago on newegg as a shell shocker for 369.00 USD a gsync would have been way more at the time -I have a powercolor red devil vega 64 available to me, so sounds like i should go with that. I have never owned a powercolor card before, are they just as reliable as the rest?
  6. I am currently running a ASUS MG279Q "27" IPS 144 Hz Free Sync 2560x1440 monitor driven by a R9 390X. I have the opportunity to get a new Card at no cost to me, my options are a Vega 64 or a GTX 1080. I am aware that the GTX 1080 appears to edge out the Vega 64, but is it worth having the Vega 64 to utilize the freesync on my monitor?
  7. So this is the build I am thinking of Case; Silverstone SST-CS350B ATX Rack mountable Server Case PSU; EVGA SuperNOVA 1000 P2 80+ PLATINUM MB; Z270 XPOWER GAMING TITANIUM RAM; Crucial 32GB Kit (16GBx2) GPU; PNY NVS810 (x4) 25+ active mini display port to HDMI adaptors. so you guys think this will run 25 1080p screens without issue?
  8. Okay I need some help to see if this build is possible. The goal and i7 computer with 32GB of memory in a server rack mount. The hard part is this single rack needs to be able to power 25 HDMI displays (1080p) It is going to be used in a concert hall and moved back and forth. Is it possible to get that many displays going off of one rack? My first thought was getting 4 Visiontek Radeon HD 7750 2GB GDDR5 6M (6 x Mini DP) and running HDMI to mini DisplayPort adaptors. Any Ideas?
  9. M17x R4 (Late 2012) i7 3610QM Nvidia GTX 675M (Have a second card for testing) 16GB of DDR3 I have been having issues with this laptop for quite some time. With a clean HDD I have used the alienware software to reinstall windows 7 home 64bit. I have installed each driver one by one and directly from dell. I left the video drivers for last. First I install the intel driver without problems, and once restarted I then install the nvida drivers. Upon restart the moment windows gets to the desktop the computer freezes. It does not shut off or go black, just locks up and freezes in place. I can however restart it into safe mode and use display driver uninstaller to uninstall the nvidia drivers and then i can restart into windows normally. I have tried verson 307.17 ,A01 and 331.65 ,A02 (both on the dell site under my service tag) with the same result. I have also pulled the exact same card (GTX 675M) out of a working laptop of the same generation, and I have had the exact same problem. Any Ideas?
  10. I currently have a corsair Air 540 and I am looking to downsize into a smaller case due to space restrictions. I have a full ATX MB, and MSI R9 390x and a Kraken x61(280mm rad). I have recently built a pc for a friend in a Fractal Define c and it seemed pretty good. What other options do I have for small yet high quality cases with side window.
  11. So I just ordered a MSI z270 board and a i7 7700k to replace my Fx8350 and Asus cross hair formula z . I am going to take the board, CPU and RAM and toss it into another case with a 600w PSU. I am keeping my R9 390x until Vega so I wanted to get a new video card under 200 bucks so my friend can used it for 1080p gaming. What would you guys get?
  12. I think I will just save my money then, thanks all for the input.
  13. I am going to upgrade my 990fx and fx 8350 to a z270 board and a i7 7700k. I have a Samsung 250gb 850 evo sata. What I'm wondering is if i should get the new 960 evo M.2 or not. It looks way faster but I primarily just play games and I'm wondering if the 130 bucks is worth it?
  14. So maybe hold on to the R9 390x for now, get an i7 and set the rest of the money aside for when vega comes out?
  15. Am I going to notice a large difference between x99 and z270?
