Ardy got a reaction from Princess Luna in i5-8600k vs i7-7700k
Princess Cadence is right, go with the 8600K, you can check benchmarks on  youtube if you want. 8600k is superior to 7700k and there is no arguing. I myself have the 8600k overclocked at 5ghz with 1.290v, i won the silicon lottery in this case but from what i've seen you should have really high chances to get to 5ghz or close. I have the same AIO that you're getting and temps never go above 85C in gaming (I mostly play BF1 which is super cpu intensive and can get to 90% utilization). For other games i've never seen anything above 60% and 70C.

To switch color on that ram there is a slider on the modules. You should be able to connect the ram to the RGB header on your motherboard if you have one otherwise you're stuck with the slider and 3 colors (red, blue and green)

    It fluctuates between 77 and 127, 8600k at 5ghz.
I touched the motherboard everywhere while under load but nothing feels that hot. I'm sure if power delivery or vrm was at 127c i would get burned, but nothing feels that hot that i can't keep my fingers on it. Maybe it's just corsair link acting weird.

    What CPU? Did you overclock?
It could be the VRM, run stress test and touch the heatsink.
At idle, 127°C seems faulty to me.
    77°C is possible.

It's a pretty new platform and Link probably hasn't been updated yet to iron out all the bugs.

I'd go with the 8600K, perfect for gaming. Unless you need 12 threads for streaming or other things that require multithreaded performance, in that case 8700K

I payed in March 2016 at MicroCenter 90 bucks for 2x8 GB DDR4 3000MHz from EVGA. It´s really not funny to build a PC right now.

Why does Europe and Asia get such better internet than us? xP

ISP is Sunrise, I live in Switzerland. I pay 139 CHF a month for internet, unlimited calls and data on mobile phone and TV.

The real trick with used stuff is to find the hardware that has already depreciated a lot of what it will depreciate in the next year or two.

So then you buy it use it for the next little while flip it for maybe 70 to 80% of what you paid and effectively you got to use it for next to nothing and you can put what you gain back towards something a little newer but that's depreciated from being brand new as well.

I would strongly suggest used from a good ebay seller. Look for 99+ feedback and 1000s of sales. There is NO reason to buy that old of a CPU at new prices. I have personally bought six different CPUs from ebay with nothing but good results.

    what is your setup?
Do you by any chance have a access point and routers which both have DHCP running?
Try turning off all network infrastructure devices (modems, routers, AP's etc) and leave the off for a minute or so (if you have dhcp servers on multiple device make sure you remove all leases too). The boot them up again in order in which they appear in the line (so first the modem, then your core router etc). now boot up the computer and see if that makes any difference.

Fractal Design Meshify C or Phanteks Enthoo Pro M TG would be the two to choose from for the best cases under $99, P400 and S340 are very good, just not the best due to airflow

It depends on the games you play and the resolution you play on. (if you have a 120hz 1080p screen it would be worth upgrading. If you play on 60hz 1440p or 4k, you most likely won't see a difference.)
    Hope this helps.

It might in some games (GTA 5 for exaple would do it), technically speaking though every system will have some form of bottleneck if you let things run at unlimited fps so I wouldn't worry about it tbh, it should be very minimal

I have an i5 4570k and 3D Mark says it is bottlenecking my 1070 so I am upgrading to a 6700k so maybe you should upgrade as well.

Would it bottleneck, yes it would. However you would still get much much better framerates than with your 270x. And honestly you probably wouldn't notice the bottleneck. My advice is get the gtx 1070 and if you aren't happy with the performance just get an i7 4790k.

    Will it bottleneck? Sure.

    How much? It depends.

Is it that bad? Hell no. You're probably going to hit like 95% of the highest performance at worst.

But the biggest question is how much will it upgrade your current setup? A GTX 1070 will still perform a helluva lot better than the R7 270X will.
