  1. I wouldn't spend the $840 on a 1080, if you do decide to upgrade the graphics card, just use that money towards one of the RTX cards. https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-RTX-2080-vs-Nvidia-GTX-1080/4026vs3603 You'd be paying almost $840 when you could get the RTX 2080 for much cheaper https://www.newegg.com/msi-geforce-rtx-2080-rtx-2080-ventus-8g-oc/p/N82E16814137350
  2. *chin scratch* Okay, that's fair. I also just watched this So basically I should move to a single, large m.2 at Gen4 for best results...
  3. Really? I'd have thought throwing a RAID setup would give quicker load times at the very least
  4. No ebay keys, thanks but pass on that shadyness 2x m.2s for RAID 0 performance, although I'm comparing price and performance of PCIe Gen3 models vs PCIe Gen4 models now... RAID 0 PCIe Gen3 will outperform a single PCIe Gen4 (within the theoretical speeds of course). I can get two of the Gen3's for the price of one of the Gen4's, as well.
  5. Okay, so I see they make a 480GB model with MP510 with the same specs (other than size of course). I honestly don't use my storage all that much. My old SSD was 960GB and never pushed passed ~60%. So we can cut that cost even more, since I won't have a need for almost 2TB of space. These 480GB models are only $69.99 *edit* I found the MP510 480GB on PC part picker, it's weird cuz if you just hit "add storage" it doesn't show up but if you got to "browse products" and click storage, it will. I'll update changes to my build in OP as we go along.
  6. I've had bad experiences personally with Rosewill but I suppose I don't -need- a 650 or platinum rated PSU, also, I like my Romer-G keyboards. I'll shop around for something similar to what you posted at a gold rating. Is OLOy reputable? I've never heard of them before. Also, the CL should have been 14 but I guess PC part picker didn't list what I intended, on Newegg I have CL14 For storage, I had a single 960GB 2.5" SSD for several years, never went above 60% usage, so I think the price could drop even more if we bumped those down to 512GB drives. As for the GPU, I am not doing 4k, I doubt I'll even go to 2k as I've gamed on both 1080p and 2k in the past and it's generally not enough of a difference for me to justify almost twice the cost on the panels. 2070 Super should be overkill for 1080p even at high refresh rates. Thanks for the input, I'd like to hear more about the RAM and m.2's you listed, how to they measure up to what I had originally?
  7. Thanks for the detailed response Mariushm, I'll need to keep this in mind for the future. Fortunately I already chose a X570 board.
  8. Yeah, I set it to public and people on my FB are saying they're forced to login. I'm going to compile a PC part picker list now. Newegg needs to be reminded what "Public" means apparently lol
  9. I'm building a new rig after needing to sell my old one out of necessity (tough times, tough decisions). I'm not too into the whole RGB scene and I'm just looking for something that's going to be able to load games quickly, stream and general usage such as youtube, MS Office, etc... The m.2 drives I intend to RAID 0 with, and that's the only part I'm not 100% on if I'm doing correctly yet. I'm hoping the chosen system can support them as I've been told there would be support on the motherboard for the dual m.2 drives. 10. Awesome to know, thank you. I'm looking at getting the ASUS AM4 TUF Gaming X570-Plus to throw everything on.
  11. I'm looking at starting a new build next year and I noticed that on Newegg and AMDs main site, the Ryzen 3700x and 3900x are only listed at 16 PCIe lanes. I'm looking at possibly doing dual 512GB m.2 SSDs and a single GPU for my new build, would I be choking out the build or is there a stat that I'm missing? Do the motherboards have their own support for the lanes?
  12. I suggest google and watching tech tips, I'm personally not even remotely interested in giving some one free tech consoltation, especially when they just dump a post like this and essentially demand we literally do -all- the work. I mean, he doesn't even have a basic list built.
  13. Been working 2+ years so far as an admin/network support agent, absolutely not worried about my job.
  14. My phone just got the 5.1 update from auto-updates from my provider finally It's dead now, can't even recover it >__>
