  1. It has an Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8650U CPU, so it should be no problem for updating to Windows 11. The PC Health Fact that Windows made me download to check if I was eligible for a Windows 11 update told me the only thing preventing me from doing so is the lack of a TPM, in this case the lack of it being enabled
  2. That's just how to access the UEFI, which I have no problem doing. The problem is that it doesn't allow me to reset the BIOS/UEFI from within it. If you want to see what I see, about half way down this link shows me all the options I have (although for some reason the 'enable TPM' option isn't on this post, it it is available on mine and tells me 'The system failed to change the state of the TPM. Please reboot the system to try again' whenever I try to enable it): https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/surface/how-to-use-surface-uefi-df2c8942-dfa0-859d-4394-95f45eb1c3f9#WindowsVersion=Windows_10
  3. I just went digging through the UEFI and there's nothing there when it comes to resetting it. Because it's a Surface, the "BIOS" is called "Surface UEFI" and there are super limited options there with regards as to what I can do
  4. Any idea if that's possible on Surface laptops? I've done some looking around online but can't find any way to reset the UEFI. I also don't have access to the battery, so letting it die was about as close as I could get to taking it out and putting it back in.
  5. Hi! A few weeks back, when I turned my Surface Book 2 on, I was greeted with a Bitlocker screen, telling me to insert a recovery key. Doing so would allow me to access Windows, but it would still show up every time I restarted my laptop. I ended up suspending Bitlocker, and after that I no longer had to deal with the blue window poping up every restart. Fast forward to a few days ago and I tried to update to Windows 11. However, it tells me that the only thing preventing me from doing so is my laptop not recognizing a TPM 2.0. I know for sure it has one, but for some reason, it was disabled in the UEFI. But, every time I try to enable it, it tells me 'The system failed to change the state of the TPM. Please reboot the system to try again.' I have tried rebooting, ensuring Windows and everything else I could find was up to date, resetting Windows, turning secure boot on and off to see if that changed anything, turning the laptop off, waiting a bit, then turning it back on, and even running its batteries to dead, waiting, then plugging it in and trying again. Even with all this, I am still unable to turn the tpm on. If it's any help, I'm using a Surface Book 2 and am on version 21H1 of Windows 10. Thank you!
  6. Hi there. I have wifi that advertises speeds of up to 45 Mbps from At&t. When I'm in my room, I get speeds of around 8-12 Mbps on my laptop (although it can drop to around 2-4 depending on when I test it, it's pretty inconsistent) and when plugged directly into the router, I get speeds of around 22-25 Mbps. What would be my best option for getting the most out of my wifi? I don't expect to be getting the full 45 Mbps, but even a boost from my current speed would be nice. I have a friend who recently got the Linksys Velop Dual-Band Mesh wifi and he says it's helped speed up his wifi tremendously. Would it be best to go with something like that or Google Wifi, or would getting a better router be better? And is there any bottleneck from keeping my current router (whatever came with the wifi from At&t) and getting the mesh network? And as for the isp side, I'd love to upgrade my plan somehow, but that's the fastest speeds offered through At&t where I live and would have to change isp's to get something else. Thanks.
  7. I currently have a 29" ultrawide monitor, as well as a 24" 1920x1080p monitor. I mainly use the 24" for games such as CSGO, as it has a refresh rate of 144 hz, and the ultrawide for games such as Fallout 4 and GTA, as the monitor has a much better image. I currently have both just sitting on my desk, but I will normally bring my 24" monitor in front of the ultrawide (and vise versa) when I am playing games on that monitor. Are there any monitor stands that would allow me to move both monitors around without having to pick them up every time I want to move them? Like, with moving arms or something. The ultrawide is an LG 29UM67 and the 24" is an Asus MG248Q. Thank you
  8. It is "up to". However, their lower package offers speeds up to 25 Mbps, so I find it odd that I don't even get that with the faster package And I'll try that
  9. Wifi. The computer I mainly use is upstairs and doesn't have access to any possible ethernet ports
  10. So, I get my internet from AT&T, and, according to their website, the internet package I have purchased offers download speeds of up to 45 Mbps. However, whenever I run an online speed test, regardless of the device I use or distance from the router, I can only get speeds from around 17-20 Mbps. Is there anything I could do, such as purchasing a new router (I use the one from AT&T that came with the internet) that would help to increase download speeds? Thanks
  11. I'm stuck deciding between the Jaybird X2s and Freedom. I'm leaning more toward the freedom, but from some of the reviews I've read, the battery on one side of the cable instead of in the earbuds themselves and the battery clip are big negatives for them. However, I don't plan on doing anything other than walking with the earbuds on or listen to anything for more than 4 hours, so I'm not sure those are dealbreakers for me. Anyone have any suggestions?
  12. The 12 mbps drops down to 10 mbps on my desktop though
  13. It's lowercase. And our current internet plan is 18 mbps, but we might up it to 45 mbps. I took a speed test and got 11.83 mbps download speed and 1.41 mbps upload speed on my laptop. I've always related my mbps to how much data was downloaded on steam.
  14. Megabytes, I would assume. It says up to 6 mbps on the AT&T website, and my download speed on steam is normally 1-2 megabytes per second, as in 1000 per gigabyte
  15. I believe its 6mbps. I know I wont be getting over 100, but a small boost would be appreciated
  16. The internet in my house is ok, usually between 1-2mbps. But whenever someone else in the house does something like steam video, I can barely get half a mb, making it impossible to play games like Counter Strike with my 500 ping. However, on the YouTube channel Unbox Therapy, there's a video where the third party router used increased his wireless speed from around 5mbps to over 100. I'm currently using the one that came with the internet from AT&T and want to know if getting a new router like the one in the video could help to increase my wifi speed. I know that wired internet is the way to go for internet speed, but the room my computer is in is upstairs and away from any ethernet ports, although I would love one.
  17. I'm looking for a new monitor, mainly for playing Counter Strike. I currently have an LG 29um67, but I have friends that have 144hz monitors and they (as well as almost everyone on the internet) says that the much higher refresh rate is a must for fps games like CS. So I've been looking for a 144hz monitor that is a little more on the cheap side. So far, I've come across the ASUS MG248Q and the BenQ XL2411Z, but I want to know if anyone knows of any other monitors, or if one of these is the best. I'm looking for one that is 24" and has good color accuracy (I know they aren't ips panels, but something that isn't too washed out or faded). Thank you

I'm not a lefty, but I use a Razer Mouse.
  19. So I recently got a Deathadder to replace my old Roccat Kone Pure, and although most of the features and programs are the same, there was this function on my old Roccat mouse (it is called easy shift or something) where I could press down on one of the side buttons of my mouse and all of the other buttons would be remapped to different functions for as long as you were pressing the "easy shift" button. For example, I could hold down the "easy shift" button, then use the mouse wheel to turn the volume of my computer up and down. I want to know if there's a program or some way I could do this in Razer Synapse. Thank you
  20. Are you looking for a regular mouse, or are you looking for a gaming mouse?
  21. Why don't you want a Razer Blade? It seems like it would fit what you want quite well
  22. So yesterday, this weird loading icon or something shows up in the bottom right corner of my monitor. But I'm not sure what it is from, or if there is a way to get rid of it, as there is no way to click on it. My antivirus just expired and I thought that is what it was, but I uninstalled the program and it still is here. I just want to know if anyone recognizes the icon or knows how I can get rid of it. Edit: The screenshot I took does not display the icon for some reason, so I took a picture with my phone.
  23. Ok, I must have been used to seeing something like a 7Zip icon or something. Thank you
  24. I recently had to reset my PC, and now all my folder icons look like this. I'm sure there's some simple customization option I'm missing, if anyone could lead me to it.
