The_Stig got a reaction from c0n8 in Upgrading CPU
I'd at least wait for the AMD 3000 (Zen 3?) series before upgrading, but at 1080p you should be good for a few years.

The_Stig got a reaction from Sebastian Kurpiel in Shooting in the snow
Remember that cold temperatures can greatly reduce battery life. Also, reflection of the sun off snow can make it very bright.

I agree that Teslas are near impossible to repair like Apple products, but you accuse them of poor build quality when all of them have 5 star safety ratings?

The_Stig reacted to Master Disaster in Mad Catz - Files for bankruptcy
I guess "cool" is a relative term, personally I'd say hideous is more apt. Looks like something a 12 year old kid might draw was involved in an explosion at a car modding workshop.

The_Stig reacted to Phate.exe in Microsoft's Forza is now a $1 Billion USD game franchise
The only one of those I've experienced is the lag when changing wheels, but when I'm screwing around in menus and tuning it doesn't bother me. Games runs nice and smooth when I'm actually driving, even on a computer that's way too old for that game.
-
The_Stig reacted to Energycore in Moving to Ryzen, looking to price my rig.
Before even trying to sell your rig, which is still quite powerful, you should wait and see whether Zen actually performs better enough to warrant selling a whole PC for. Honestly a 4790K is still a great CPU today (delid it for more clocks :D), and Zen is unlikely to bring something worlds better for gaming. Maybe a bit better.

The_Stig got a reaction from anybodykek in Any upgrade cpus out there for this
I wouldn't recommend upgrading laptop CPUs, even if you can replace it. It would throw off cooling/battery life if you could replace it, but most CPU are soldered to the mobo itself.
