  1. thanks a tonne the passive vs active speaker thing helped a lot now its just about trying to find decent ones that wont completely break my wallet, and yeah the JBL's are waaaayyy outa my price range unfortunately if you have any other recomendations at around the $200 mark id appreciate it though
  2. oh yeah i forgot to put that in thanks, probably somewhere around $200-$300 max and thats in AUD $$
  3. Alright guys so i have, ALOT of questions that i need someone smarter and more knowledgeable than me to answer. first of the main situation i have is that i am trying to find a pc speaker system to replace my current one, as it is dying slowly but surely, its a cheap $35 2.1 system by logitec and it has served me well but i wanna upgrade. Theres a few things that i want out of my new speakers, first and foremost im a bass whore and i need deep and heavy bass, upon saying this its also important that the other parts of the music aren't completely drowned out (though i do understand a lot of bass tends to have this effect). now upon saying this ive had a look online and i cant see a decent 2.1 system that i could buy outright that fits what i want, so im thinking of trying to get hifi speakers and connect them to an amp and maybe buy a sub later (or if its affordable now) this being said i have no god dam clue where to start. i have no idea how the wiring works, have no idea what amp is good and what is bad, i dont know what decent hifi/bookself speakers there are out there that can have a sub added on later, i also have no idea how an amp even works, and are they all the same? or do i need a different one depending on the sub and speakers? and i have no clue as to whether this is even a better option than buying a standard speaker system. and yes ive tried reading up on this online but i cant understand half of what they are talking about they just say get an amp, speakers and a sub later and i have no idea what to choose or how it works. to whoever took the time to read this, i thank you for any help you could give an audio amateur in his pursuit of better sound
  4. god dam that really annoys, i saw it on the intro and figured it would be nvidia optimized but that performance hit hurts. nvidia truly are the apple of the gpu world
  5. hey guys so ive been having this issue with rainbow six seige recently first of all let me get my specs outa the road so it is as follows... amd r9 390 intel core i5 4690k msi gaming 5 motherboard kingston hyperX 8gb memory i only just noticed the other day when i was playing rainbow six seige after i alt tabbed i saw i still had msi afterburner up and it said my graphics card was dropping from 100% to 0 gpu usage every couple of seconds which doesnt seem normal to me. its also the only game i own that gives me any trouble related to fps not even witcher 3 dropped below 60fps at ultra so im sorta confused. is it normal to have this sorta gpu usage? and yes i have up to date drivers
  6. Thanks a ton you've really helped me out. I'm going to go with your first build but with the upgraded processor probably , thanks for all your help
  7. im liking your first build option but i have a question (im new to this so bear with me) no cpu cooler? ive heard its almost a crime not too inclue a cpu cooler. i understand that i cant really overclock this cpu but how loud will it be with the stock cooler on?
  8. wow, ive never been on LTT forums before but you guys really helped me out thanks guys i appreciate the help ill have a look at the intel options cause that seems like the thing everyone is suggesting
  9. i5 is what i would idealy love to get but its a little out of my price range unfortunatly i'd like to keep it within $1500
  10. So pretty much im sick of having to switch between console and my VERY average pc to play games on, so ive decided to put together something that can do and play everything i want it too. these include things like skyrim (old i know but i still love it), witcher, payday, aswell as a little bit of recording of games like league of legends aswell, this is what ive got so far in terms of parts. CPU - AMD FX 8320 black edition 3.5 ghz CPU cooler - Coolermaster HYper 212 EVO GPU - XFX DD Radeon R9 290x 4gb MOBO - MSI 970A SLI Krait edition SSD - samsung 850 EVO 120gb HDD - WD Blue 1TB 6gb/s 7200rpm RAM - KIngston HyperX FURY (2x4gb) white PSU - EVGA SuperNOVA 650 G1 80+ gold 650W Fully Modular C ASE - Enthoo Pro White Also i live in australia and im getting this stuff off amazon for around the $1400-$1500 mark and shipping it over. so will there be any issues with shipping or psu compatability in aus? thanks guys all feedback welcome
